Details finally have emerged regarding the Pro Volleyball Federation's linear TV package with CBS Sports Network. The league's initial announcement on Dec. 20, 2023, had promised "a minimum of 10 matches to be aired in 2024, plus the semifinals and championship match." The regular-season schedule disclosed on Wednesday by the PVF has seven matches. The PVF release did say that the playoffs (two semifinals and a championship match) will be aired on CBSSN, so that does add up to 10. Each of PVF's seven franchises will be seen on CBSSN's national TV slate, with Omaha Supernovas and Grand Rapids Rise getting three appearances, two each by the Orlando Valkyries, Atlanta Vibe and Columbus Fury, and one by the San Diego Mojo and Vegas Thrill. The release made no mention of on-air talent, leaving open the possibility that the matches would be called by local announcers who have been used during the live streams on the PVF YouTube Channel. Across social media, I have seen questions as to whether the national-TV matches will be streamed on the PVF YouTube channel. The release did not address that. However, my bet is that CBS holds exclusive rights and probably would not want a third-party stream that might undercut its audience.

Thanks, Larry. The language, "a minimum of 10...plus the semifinals and championship," makes it sound like it should be more than 10, with "plus" as the key word. But I suppose it could just be a case where the original press release was not written as clearly as it could be. Actually, reading through it now...it's, uh, not the best-written one I've ever seen. I agree with you that it is unlikely that CBS would allow those matches to be simulcast on YouTube.
