The Italian historical flop narrative is about to be killed by the passion and talent of Lubian, Antropova and Farh. They will only need to bring in Egonu for the last five points of every set. I look to see them in the final four of both VNL and Paris. I know Velasco is a legend of a coach so I am curious what he can accomplish this summer with Italia. When he coached the Argentinian men's team, they did not perform as well. Granted, the competition is tougher amongst more teams on the men's side so I'm not sure if my argument even holds water or if a comparison can even be made. We have only seen this crop of athletes under Mazzanti so maybe Velasco can work some magic?

I would use a baseball analogy for Antropova and Egonu. Antropova is my starter and Egonu is my closer. Combining those two in individual segments with a fresh Egonu at the end of every set would be a lethal combination. We know the MB's are going to be solid. It really depends on how the OH's perform. A lot of top notch competition this year even without the young Russians and a team for Haak.

Turkiye’s training group is basically all the expected olympions (except Karakurt for now), and Beyza, Alexia, Tuğba, Dilay, and Deniz Uyanik. Only notable omissions are Meliha, İdil Naz, Yasemin, and Sıla (meaning Dilay may be the third setter on the depth chart).
S: Cansu Elif Dilay MB: Eda Zehra Aslı Deniz Beyza OH: Hande İlkin Derya Tuğba Op: Vargas Alexia L: Gizem Simge Ayça

I honestly don’t think Carlini is gonna make the Olympics, if JP is in good form (she looked good in the scrimmage clips).
The starting weeks of the VNL will be very telling.

Do we have any tea/info on any week 1 rosters yet for any team? Brenda taking a week off (again) could hurt DR again in trying to qualify for the VNL Finals, but since it's an Olympic year I don't care as much, besides the fact that DR still hasn't been to a VNL Final even with the recent 8 expansion. Betty's absence isn't as critical.

France lost in a friendly to Ukraine today I dont think any of these players, minus maybe the setters and Sylves will/can be starters.
