Amy rumors of other B1G teams starting vb to form a conference? I think any new Big Ten team would need to be active for 2-3 years before a Big Ten MVB sponsorship would be formed. The already established teams would not join up if an autobid is not approved. You need at least 6 teams that have been active for 2/3 years - that's the only reason the Big West got an autobid right away

I may have mis-heard him, but when the NEC auto-bid came up on Rob's podcast a couple of weeks ago, didn't Jay Hossack say something along the lines of keep an on this, there is stuff going on behind the scenes? Basically foreshadowing the now-announced Sacred Heart move and maybe/possibly hinting at another that would put NEC under 6? Maybe there is another NEC --> EIVA or NEC --> MIVA transfer that is about to happen.

Sacred Heart and Merrimack are both leaving NEC for MAAC, I guess we are just waiting to see if Merrimack MVB is staying with NEC. They also have 2 ECC teams (Daemen, D'Youville) and ECC have 4 other MVB teams now ... Also, does anyone know if GLVC is gonna sponsor men's volleyball? They will have 6 teams next year.

Sheesh sounds like the NEC Volleyball could easily go the way of the PAC 12 if all that happens.

Rumor has it that Merrimack is staying in the NEC, and they might have another east coast team starting a men's program that will join that conference as well in the next year or two. They should be fine.
