For the Top Twenty and even some just in the RV category, the separation between tiers is about as tight as I've ever seen it.
Tier 1: 1. Long Beach 2. UCLA 3. Grand Canyon 4. Hawaii 5. UC Irvine ................ Tier 2: 6. BYU 7. Stanford 8. Pepperdine 9. Penn State 10. Ball State 11. Loyola 12. Ohio State 13. CSUN 14. Lewis 15. USC 16. George Mason 17. Princeton 18. UC San Diego 19. McKendree 20. Lindenwood 21. UCSB ......... Tier 3:
Losing to a lower adjacent tier is a minor upset. Losing to a team two tiers or lower is a major upset.
