This is the behavior of someone trying to get the thread locked. But joke’s on him, Volleytalk isn’t moderated anymore.
So now he’s just making an ass of himself.

College student athletes are not paid to play or practice their sport(s). Thus by definition Amatuer Athletes.
In 1950, the NCAA approved athletic scholarships. Today this includes tuition and living expenses, the later having NCAA limitations. Still they are defined as amatuer athletes. A fine line to be sure.
Now there is NIL. The NCAA denied SAs the ability to use NIL for personal financial re-imbursement. The courts threw this out. Everyone else could use NIL for personal profit, including all students. The courts found this a violation of SA civil rights, understandably so IMO. Thus NIL is not related to amatuer or professional athletic status.
But the issue I have is people demanding a 20 yr old soph be held to their personal standards because ITO she is a professional (not sure why that is relevant, but some cite this). In reality she is an inexperienced young adult, a very good volleyball player, and not tne best interviewee. The later not real important at this point in her career. Not something she needs fan (or antifan) criticism on IMO. She will improve.
Many true adult professionals live by standards that many disagree with. They don't seem to care, nor face consequences.
PS I too, a non-athlete, have marketed my NIL and was minimally successful. They gave me a Pepsi to go away and stop bothering them.

It makes no difference to me whether she is a professional athlete or not. I’m not sure why we’re getting bogged down in semantics.

The NCAA positon on NIL wasn't found to be a civil rights violation. It was an anti-trust violation, which is related to the NCAA's allowed monopoly on amateur inter-collegiate athletics. Just tell us you don't care what kind of person she is as long as she's a good volleyball player and she gets to play for Nebraska. We already know that anyway.

Disclaimer:I am not a Harper Murray or Nebraska fan
My take is that journalists are there to get a story and have a right to ask any question they think will help them do their jobs. Harper also has a right to decline to answer questions. That doesn't make her a child. If anything, a child would not know that they can choose to not respond to every question.
Also, my understanding is she is still facing legal consequences and may have been advised by her lawyer to not make public statements about her situation.
Y'all are screaming at athletes to "stick to sports" when it suits you and then pile on about a no comment response about a nonsports issue.
We will never know why Harper didn't respond and it isn't interesting to speculate.
This thread is getting boring, repetitive, and uninformed, I'll be back on the threads about volleyball if anyone wants to join me there.

Keep an open mind mama And those same couples are still on Grindr with a joint account and probably on secret accounts. Found a barber on Grindr??? That’s a new one! LOL

This entire thread is a mess, and if posting an image from Grindr of ilalum92 ’s profile makes it messier and shifts the focus away from adult men trying to dictate Harper Murray’s speech, I’m happy to add to the muck and make this intolerable for all. Back to Grindr, I just told ilalum92 in DM how Minnesota (followed closely by the circuit brats at Northwestern) has the best bottoms in the B1G, who actually make going to Minneapolis tolerable in the winters lol Gurl, you would never find me on Grindr. Im a classy lady! Thats for cheap & easy queens. LOL What did you just call me??

Harper Murray and her tude are close to breaking a record on volleytalk maybe??
Which individual player has commanded the largest thread over the forum's history? Lexi Sun perhaps.
I think Lauren Barnes flamed out after around 30 or so pages.
