Henno hit .107 on the night, which is the 2nd lowest hitting percentage he's posted on the season.
He's hitting a fantastic .383 on the year.

So I'm watching the replay and what I didn't notice until now was how vocal Louis was out there and even guiding his team and leading.
It was even evident in set 3 when Tread was called for that ridiculous lift call and Charlie and Tread were pleading with the down ref. Then you see after a bit, Louis kinda wave off Charlie and rally the team in the gesture to let's move on and get this one back. And his vocal leadership continued as the match went on.
I loved that of Louis to take the reigns in leadership even as a true frosh out there. I'm hoping he continues to do that because they need someone like that out there with Chakas out.

The maturity of a 20-yr old freshman... and he's getting set by a 17-yr old freshman lol

UCI 17-8 GCU - 20-4 Hawaii - 21-5
Idk why some would say that UCI has the advantage over Hawaii. I mean look at their record. Historically one can only have a maximum of 6-7 losses to be considered for an at-large.
Then there goes GCU with what’s their best win, BYU at then #6? Lost to Hawaii and UCI on the road. No top 5 win. Won against CSUN 1-0, Stanford 2-0.
Hawaii has wins against UCI 2-1, CSUN 1-1, Stanford 2-0

The final week of regular conference play will still be important to sorting out the at-large picture. And the selection committee isn't bound to an equal weighting of criteria, only fair application of process. So teams are always incentivized to win their tournaments as none can have certainty on selection committee process and weighting of at-large criteria.

Hawaii has no choice but to keep winning at this point. I don't trust their chances of an at large. And this UCSD series on the road isn't a gimme either.

Hawaii won this match with BOTH multiple year starting 6-rotation players not on that court. Didn't think it was possible especially on the road. But was glad they was able to find the mana to prevail.

Hawaii should probably think about winning the AQ versus putting money on an at large IMO. I would expect Hawaii to get snubbed by the committee if this were the case.
Though, if I were to play into an at large scenario, Hawaii needs to first take care of business next week and get the third seed. I do not see UCI taking both matches vs. LBSU. Then take care of UCSB in the quarterfinals and beat UCI in the semis…. That should be what Hawaii needs for the at large. Of course barring a LBSU/UCLA upset in the conference tourneys.
Nonetheless, Hawaii better get the series sweep over UCSD next week.

Hawaii is in a good spot for the at large. I think it will come down to the semi final game in the BWT.
And it sounds like UCSD lost their best player last night. Dyer the setter went down in the 2nd set against UCSB

I have no idea who else is in the picture for at larges but I agree that we need to beat UCSD and then if we get to the BwT final, we should be deserving. We would have beaten UCI 3-1.and knock UCI out of the picture. We would have a head to head win against GCU.
With BYU losing to USC yesterday, I think BYU is out.
Of course, UH is not looking ahead to anyone but UCSD. We need to clean up our error(22 SEs) and get more efficiency from Alakai and more consistency from Louis and Keoni.

For best chances to get to NCAAT (outside of winning Big West):
- beat UCSD 2x - reach big west finals - Ucla to win the MPSF

I am happy with these double calls tbh, because some of these players need to get called out for their ball handling
