This should be coming out later this week, so what are people thinking? Last year, it was 2 teams of 7 each. Here's mine, but who you got?
2024 MPSF Player of the Year: Andrew Rowan, S - UCLA
2024 MPSF Freshman of the Year: Wes Smith, MB - USC
ALL-MPSF FIRST-TEAM:
Andrew Rowan, S - UCLA Nic Slight, S - Grand Canyon Merrick McHenry, MB - UCLA Ethan Champlin, OH - UCLA Camden Gianni, OP/OH - Grand Canyon Will Rottman, OH - Stanford Cameron Thorne, MB - Grand Canyon

Don't have serve receive stats but I actually think Cooper Herndon has done a nice job at Libero for GCU.

Serve reception is only part of a Libero’s contribution…and it is not perfect as an overpass is considered a “successful reception” even if it immediately gets pounded down for a kill.

It hurts to say that top 6 team in the nation BYU probably does not deserve anyone else to be there besides Luke Benson.

Kupono gets so hot, but then gets so cold. I love Miks’ game, but he has been a lilttle streaky (probs more consistent than Kupono, without the massive highs and lows).
TT and Julien in the middle have been consistent…but, some of the guys listed are such beasts.

5 from GCU and 3 from UCLA? GCU has the same 7 every night, where as these are the only 3 constants for UCLA. Robinson has grown to become a consistent starter, but he gets pulled half the time. It's really tough deciding between Hickman, Benson, Robinson, and Klein for second team. Do you think there should be more from UCLA or fewer from GCU? If so, who?

I would go with
Cole Ket > Wes Smith (missed too much matches) Kupono Browne > Rico Wardlow

Ugh they need to expand this list. 14 spots for 7 teams who have several recognizable performers at different positions is silly.
Granted, a team like Concordia Irvine might have 1 this year, but that's off-set by teams like GCU and UCLA who have a good 3 to 4 a piece. Hell, GCU probably has like 6 (sorry Karter Rogers!)

With Wes Smith being out as long as he has, could a player like Ethan Watson sneak in as FOTY?
He has a slightly higher hitting percentage and is 1 block shy of what Wes did.

UCLA has three on this list. It has to do with the consistent change in player usage. Last year, they had seven players on the All-American list. This year, they will only have three. That is what happens with a talented roster and with so much change. If David, Knight, Rama, Sloane, and Genis were on the floor consistently at UCLA or another school, they would likely be on this list. I think they missed Robinson. You might see some of these players in the USA gym this summer but not on the All-MPSF list.
