Hey club directors,
We are looking at other events in 2024-25 to attend. Wanted to see if anyone had opinions of the Steel Freeze event that took place in Pittsburgh in February.
How was the event ran?
Competition worth a five hour drive?
Facilities in good shape?

My 17-Club Level team traveled from Richmond to play so about a six hour drive.
- Competition was good. We get to play teams we don't get to see too often, especially with the downturn of USAV bid tournaments.
- Would like to see it be a three day event. I know our club is on the hunt for more of those on the East Coast in January/February.
- The only facility issue was there were a few courts that had, if I remember correctly, were sewer grates under the sport court on one side around the attack line. We got through the matches without issue, but I would hate to try to explain away a possible injury on one of those courts.
All in all, a good event!

Looks like they changed how the event will Flow next year. Open divisions will be three days, starting Friday PM. All other divisions will be two days. Very similar to how Bluegrass was ran on the girls level. Definitely now worth the drive if similar clubs return to it. www.advancedeventsystems.com/36812 |

Our families and players thoroughly enjoyed St. Louis and the USAV Dennis Lafata tournament, which is the same weekend as the Pittsburgh event.

Have dates for the 2024 Rust Bucket tournament been announced? |
