Theres a new team in Kathmandu (Nepal) that just signed a couple turkish players and a couple other foreigners. Fulden Ural, Pelin Eroktay (young opposite on loan from Ecza), and bulgar setter Andrea Tsvetanova so far.

I have to say I LOVE this gala roster. They don’t have any like tier 1 in their position players but they have SUCH a nice balanced and very very nice starting 7.
Lazovic/Ilkin is such a fun outside duo. They are both excellent in the back court and can both very much contribute offensively especially because the team is so balanced neither of them have to carry too heavy of a work load offensively so they free each other up. Very very nice stability here that a lot of teams don’t have. Even if neither of these 2 are in “best OHs in the world” talks.
MB Timmerman is a great middle offensively and defensively very solid pick up of another not quite best in the world tier but very good. Yasemine is one of the best local middles. Very nice signing for a local.
S Bongaerts looks great running the offense. She thrives with this good passing and fast offense and all 3 pins like to go fast so she’s just running it beautifully.
Opp Alexia is an amazing asset for this team specifically as a local and because of Timmerman and the outsides she doesn’t have to be a 30 point per game opposite which she isn’t capable of being consistently but she’s a very nice piece to have on a team that can pass well and has help and this team fits that perfectly.
All in all just a very very expertly crafted roster in my opinion. Like I said nobody on this team that you see their name and immediately think “goat” but the program did such a good job getting quality local pieces and grabbing some very solid foreign players that compliment each other well.
I’ll be curious to see how they compete with the top tier !

#*%€ off😤😤😤😤😤😤😤 Well. At least one team saw their old opposite underperforming and quickly signed a plan B.

She turned some heads last year on a bad team and shes got charisma so all the turkish fans jumped on her bandwagon. Also come on, have you watched Alexia the last two seasons? Nitpicking aside; yeah this is a solid team. Much as i hate them i would rather they displaced THY in the top 4, especially since Kuzey just chose not to compete this season.

She won’t have to carry the team and she’s good in system and this team will have ball control to let her hit in system a bunch

I’ll be curious to see how they compete with the top tier ! Every single point you referred is 100% correct. 1st time to see such an accurate analysis about this team, which exactly matches with mine. I liked very much this decend and objective assessment. I would like to highlight a couple of points additionally. 1- Bongaerts and Timmerman were team mates before coming to Galatasaray, knowing each other very well, the style and capability of fast play. 2- Yasemin Güveli is the best blocker so far however still need a bit more time to adapt herself to this new system and to Bongaerts as fast playing, which is found very succesfull by volleyball authorities. 3- After a terrible injury in 2018, İlkin is climbing the stairs so quickly to become a real GOAT after her succesful NT career in 2023-24 until she got injured first leg muscle and then in her ankle and missed many matches in 2024 NT season, however she has been entitled as the new record holder, the local player in highest scorer in one season with 460 points in Sultanlar League. Another point which makes this so valuable that, she achieved this success, while the team was not doing well as expected. Last year, she was the one and only player leading the objective to reject surrender. Therefore she has been promoted to lead the team as the captain in the new season. 4- No one is expecting from Alexia to create miracles in the new season but if she manages to repeat her previous performance while playing for Galatasaray in 2021-22 hired from Vakıfbank in that season, that would be fair enough. This year, Galatasaray is strong enough to attack from different positions with different players efficiently, such as İlkin, Lazovic, Timmerman, Alexia, Yasemin and so on and of course Bongaerts is conducting these attacks like a maestro with a great balance. Please note that, according the table I have created during the Turkish Kupa Volley groups, Galatasaray was like a terminator at attack with 50% Kill and 36% efficiency, while none of the other 8 teams got nearby. 5- Team defence (especially floor) now looks really solid and along with İlkin and Lazovic, the fresh blood libero Eylül is a very good asset for Galatasaray in that area. Overall, all I can say that, everyone will watch an entirely different Galatasaray, when compared with last season. Considering the CEV Challenge Cup journey and the long League marathon, coach might or should think about some additional transfers to some positions such as OPP. It is not because of any doubt about Alexia but just a precaution to possible injuries in this long run. Let's wait and see.

Hate is not a good feeling. It just harms yourself Too early to comment about Yasemin since she is just at the beginning to adapt herself to fast play and to Bongaerts. And have you watched Alexia with Galatasaray in 2021-22 and now in pre-season in 8 matches(3 pre-season friendly, 3 BVA and 2 Kupa Volley)? She came back as she left in 2022. By the way, a new friendly match played on 4 sets between Galatasaray vs Nilüfer yesterday. Galatasaray 4 - Nilüfer 0. Set resuls are 25-19, 25-15, 25-18, 25-18
