I don’t know how reputable all of these individuals are and if their ability to host a legit tournament is worth investing into or if it’s just vultures looking to scoop in and see if they are able to scavenge If you’re working with people who are using a vastly inferior product like sport wrench because it’s a cheapskate site then I think you have your answer don’t you

I think these are all regional tournaments as those regions will move away from USAV as the host for their regions. It doesn't make sense for clubs to pay USAV for membership and insurance to have regional tournaments to turn around and play AAU Nationals at the end of the club season. Maybe they will do a rotating basis of hosting 3 day tournaments once these get off and running. I for one don't need to go to SoCal (whether Anaheim or LACC) 2x a year and then head to Orlando every year. Let's get some variety.

Not the guy you’re going after but I do think it’s easier to read future matches on AES than SW. Plus when you click on division it doesn’t take you straight to the pool schedule. You’ll need to hit another button to find the school, or roster, etc. Small things in the big picture.

I get what you mean about the future matches, I don’t think coding crossover matches the way they do is going then any favors but I do think reading the future matches for a following day based off of a previous day performance/ranking reads easier in sports wrench if not just a wash. I also find it much easier to look up specific teams within a club, like I’m not even interested in how we were doing it under AES because SW is doing it just fine.

So no body knows or is willing to share what SoCal’s plans are for 2025. The current plan is to run a candidate to be the new CEO of USAV.

SoCal Cup has been a great power league the past few years. It's only moderately expensive, well organized, we have had good refs (but can't speak for everyone), and the teams are constantly moved up or down to keep the challenge level just right. It's an organization on the upswing, and I hope other regions will give it a chance. The top teams seem to have consistent rosters without missing players week to week, but the mid-level teams always seem to be missing people, but you can see some great games there as well. The lower levels are good introductions to kids just starting. It's something for everyone.
I will admit the Anaheim CC had better food. The only bonus from the family perspective about AES is being able to use the VB Parent app, which is great. I asked the guy who did VBP and he said no plans to open it to Sports Wrench, but you never know.

I had the chance to speak with one of the directors this weekend and he said that there really is no plan. They put that information out there and no plan do execute it. So there is that.
