It must have been the injury, otherwise, I think he would have made the team - with that said, who would have been cut? I might be in the minority on this but... Demyanenko hasn't been as consistent or impactful, to me, this summer. Not that any decision should be based on one tournament or summer in an Olympic year. I think you’re 100% correct. I believe Demanyanko should have been the 4th middle but the injury to Eshenko cleared the path. To be fair Danny had a good summer last year and is an incredible teammate. But gives up so much as a blocker. |

Anyone know what happened to Sclater? I didn't see him at all this entire VNL. He seemed like a capable opposite when he subbed in.

Yeah, I agree on both your takes.. Also in the matches I've seen him he gave up so many serves. Fynn was a pleasant surprise with the absence of Jordan S.

Anyone know what happened to Sclater? I didn't see him at all this entire VNL. He seemed like a capable opposite when he subbed in. I heard that there was a falling out between him and the coaching staff - due to a requested time off? |

Sclater has not been part of the team since last year's VNL. He was absent from the NORCECA Championships and the Olympic Qualifier that followed VNL. |
