Is there seeding or ranking of these teams somewhere? Just snaked. So the first seed in Pool A is 1 overall, first seed in pool H is the 8 seed, 2nd seed in pools H is 9 overall and so on.

Some great matches in U15 today, HP STL vs Maryland Jrs, MD has a fantastic OH and setter. Similar Coqui vs Rockstar was also a super entertaining match to watch.

Any thoughts on 5 Non-California teams in the 17 open gold bracket? With the exception of Vanguard and WP who pulled off upsets based on seeds the other three teams have based off of consistently been in gold all year.

WPVC has been underachieving most of the year. They picked the right time to put it together. 15-3 in the 3rd set against Rockstar who was the favorite in a lot of people's eyes going in is insane.

Happy California championship day!
17 Open - B2B over Surf 15 Open - Rockstar over Surf
6/8 teams in 15 Open from California… I thought the rest of the country was catching up? Looks like dominance is traditional!

OMG what a bittersweet experience this tournament was for me. Coached 14 Open team that has never played open at nationals before but we went 4-2 the first two days and were still in hunt for gold. Got put into a pool with Rockstar, HPSTL and Academy HP. Ended up beating HPSTL in 3 and then playing Rockstar right after and beating them in 2. Boys and me were on cloud nine and then we lost to Academy in 2, putting us in a 3 way tie with Rockstar and Academy and we end up losing the tie break set 16-14 to Academy to be sent to Consolation bracket. I dont think I have ever experienced that kind of an emotional rollercoaster in one day. I guess we can hang our hat on the fact that we were the only ones to beat the national champions at this tournament. Crazy stuff happens at nationals Rockstar is a well deserved winner of that tournament. They played most consistent volleyball of all the teams. Hats off to them!

Fun fact - in the first wave, not single club earned more than 1 medal in Open, between 18-16-13-12 Open every medalist was from a different club across all divisions
That’s actually a neat sign of parity
