LMU had a great 2023 going 20-6 overall, and 13-3 in conference, but didn't get a bid to the tourney. They had their highest finish in years in the WCC standings at 2nd place. They only return 3 starters, with a lot of transfers coming in. Some transfers are pretty solid, but with so many changes it could be a challenge to find their groove.

I'm curious to see how LMU does. They lost a ton of firepower so the remaining players have some big shoes to fill.

Didn’t realize that Moore followed Baresford to Vanderbilt for her Senior year- tough loss for the Lions.

Didn’t realize that Moore followed Baresford to Vanderbilt for her Senior year- tough loss for the Lions. Right, but they picked up 2 transfers in the middle. Hayes was very good at Sac State, so I dont think middle will be a problem. Other spots are more of a ? for me.

Who do we think wins starting OH spots of these 4. Anyone seen the transfers play? Paige Flickinger (Tr from LSU) Maddie Boerstra Sophia Meyers (Tr from Portland St) Sophie Stephenson (Tr from Illinois)
Maddie started last year so you'd think she has one spot. I've seen Sophia Meyers play, and I think she has a great chance to start. Dont know enough about the other 2. I do see a likely 6-2 scenario where they all play though.

I'm really excited for this team. Fingers crossed WCC can get multiple bids to the tournament this year.

While the team last year had stellar pins with Shaffer, Geisberger, Harper, and Boestra. I think they have more depth at the pins so if someone is having an off night they have options. I think have something special in Sophomore Opposite Leah Burrell. Saw some footage pretty physical and a lefty. I hope she gets some time in the lineup.
Schafer is great and will do an awesome job leading the offense in either a 5-1 or 6-2 (I could see a 6-2 happening) Hastings is such an underrated libero in NCAA and arguably the best in the WCC.
This is going to be a good team.
