With all due respect, y'all don't understand how probability works. You can't just add up all the medal percentages for TKN and Cheng/Hughes and think that's the odds of either team winning. For one, their odds aren't independent of each other: TKN winning a medal would make it less likely for Cheng/Hughes to win a medal, and vice versa. And even if they were independent, you still wouldn't be able to add the probabilities like that--if the models gave each team a 60% chance of medaling, that wouldn't mean that they have a combined 120% chance of medaling.
If their medal chances were totally independent of each other, the odds of either team (or both) medaling would be about 69%. The negative correlation between the two events increases the probability, I think to something like 72%. (I may have done that wrong, but I'll spare the gory details unless some math nerds really want me to go into that. And then I went into a deep dive through ChatGPT, and finally ended up with 73% as an estimate.)
