Gotta be shocked as Japan. And if you’re the USA, you can’t be too happy to see an energized Germany and a Japan with something to prove.

Wasn’t always pretty but fun first match! Will be interesting to see how well Grozer holds up through the tournament. Cooled off in the middle of the match but looked strong again in the fifth.
Japan uncharacteristically shaky. I suspect they’ll look better next match.

Well, I got the prediction wrong. Japan dropped from the 4th set and Germany found themselves. The Olympics are shaping up to be intreresting. Me too Had Japan winning 3-1 and Germany going 0-3 in pool. But I did say Germany matched well against Japan and they abused their pin blocking. I’ll take the result. This Olympics just got a wake up call! ☠️ |

There’s a chance they don’t make it out of pools and that would be such a choke with how much they’ve improved in the quad |

Stunner Japan definitely matches up better against Argentina and 1-2 with a point might be good enough to advance… but Argentina surely will make some noise |
