Hey VTers! We're now less than three weeks till the NCAA season starts up! Looking forward to following the action with you all here soon. Ahead of Week 1, it would be cool to get some sense of who's currently planning to make which teams' match threads this season. An unofficial roll call of sorts and also a way for us to see if there might be some unexpected people stepping back or new people showing interest. I'll start by tagging people who regularly made match threads last year for specific teams and conferences to see whether they're expecting to do so again this year and I'll update once we start to hear back.
exit237a - Illinois 2024 (unless somebody else would like to take it over, LMK!) baytree - Stanford 2024 confirmed, unless someone else wants to- let baytree know; maybe Pitt, GA Tech, Cal, SMU, Pepperdine, San Diego JJVb - Confirmed 2024: Oregon, USC, Washington, UCLA, Oregon State, WSU, LMU, Pepperdine if baytree doesn't, some Big12, some MWC manyshaped - Arizona State and Arizona 2024 confirmed, plus other Big 12 eazy - Louisville 2024 confirmed JT - Minnesota and St. Thomas 2024 confirmed gopherhim - 2024 confirmed match threadster willing to help out, let them know! *Anyone I haven't tagged here is also obviously welcome and encouraged to make match threads, too! If you're interested in getting involved that way, this might be a good thread to chime in and express interest. The folks listed above are just our usual suspects that come to mind from last year and if you were a regular match threader last year who I've missed, your omission here was unintentional.

I'm planning on making Stanford's threads but if someone else wants to make them, LMK. I might make some for Pitt, Georgia Tech, Cal, SMU, Pepperdine, or San Diego if no one else makes them but that depends on my time. Thanks for starting the thread.

Yes, I plan to make Oregon, USC, Washington, UCLA ones that don't play the teams like Neb, Wisconsin, I'll etc that others make threads for. I will also do some WCC ones that include Oregon State, WSU, LMU, Pepp if baytree doesn't. I will also make top Big12 ones that others don't. Probably also only a few top MWC ones.

Same for top-25 matches that don’t have a designated thread-maker. (And remember that I called dibs on the MN-Stanford and MN-Texas matches when they were first announced!!!  )

I started dabbling in match threads during the Olympics and feel confident now about throwing something decent-looking together. I should probably put men’s gold medal match thread on my resume, yes? So add me to the substitute list! Glad to see JT plans to continue making his beautiful Gopher threads. |

Usually during the Monday of each week (after the AVCA releases its updated Top 25 rankings) I'll put together a table with all of the upcoming matches between ranked teams and we coordinate who'd like to cover which matches- we try to at least have a match thread made for each head to head matchup between ranked teams. The reliable homers with their home team they cover have unofficial dibs on their team's matches but there are often matches between ranked teams that don't have a homer covering them. I think we all appreciate having more folks who like making match threads helping out and those Top 25 matches would be a great way to get you into the fold. I tag everyone when I post that table and then I'll update it whenever anyone offers to cover whichever match thread they want to do. In that way, we're able to cover those ranked matches without multiple people duplicating match threads. Awesome, thanks! All of that communication will end up happening in a forthcoming match threads thread that's dedicated to linking each week's match threads to its OP- I'll be sure to make you aware of that thread when it's made.
