Or the USA fencing team, which won several gold medals?

And even then, NBC Sports has broadcast their world championship

Do we know why WC was moved up a year? Is this permanent, or just for this quad? What do we get in the 2-year Olympic offset instead?

Also does this mean the Euros are 2-year offset and once every 4 years? Or will they double up with WC?

Or will they double up with WC? Kinda. Three of the best teams not qualified from 2026 continentals will qualify via their WCH performance. guess that means euros are moving either to every four years... or will be held in the olympic year... im not 100% sure

That’s why a some key players from some teams are planning or announced a break next year. Although there will be a WCH, the tournaments important for Olympics will start 2026. Meanwhile, all the points from these tournaments are important for near Top 15 but non VNL teams if they wanted to get in at VNL since there will be no Challenger Cup anymore.

I'm half-joking when I say that the 2025 WCH will be a glorified Grand Champions Cup (RIP) lol. Teams are usually in flux the year after the Olympics. I'm curious what a lot of teams will look like once the retirement-dust settles.

Brazil definitely would like to win one and their players have said as much because they have yet to win one. The futures ones are definitely less prestigious but downplaying their importance so dumb

And also it’s weird to make a thread about watching pro vball outside of the Olympics but then also downplay the second biggest and most prestigious event in volleyball besides the Olympics… but anyway
