Delaware Blue Hens 2023 Record: 24-5 (15-3) CAA Regular Season Runners Up CAA Conference Tournament Champions 2023 NCAA Conference Tournament: 1st Round Loss (Missouri 0-3) 2024 Roster OHJayda Redd 5'7 FR - Orlando, FL Asia Murray 6'2 JR - Chicago, IL Emily Chrysogelos 6' SR - Raleigh, NC Savannah Seemans 5'11 GR - Newark, DE Anna Logan Gillens 5'10 SO - West Colombia, SC OPPRaina Hughes 6'1 SR - Williamstown, NJ Dylan Norris 6'2 JR - Toano, VA MBMackenzie Sobczyk 5'11 SR - Wilminton, DE Gha'Naye Whitfield-Moss 6' SO - Bessemer, AL Kirah Johnson 6' GR - Centreville, VA Morgan Campbell 5'11 SO - Douglasville, GA SLily Rodgers 5'10 GR - St. Louis, MO Kennedi Inman 5'10 SO - Aubrey, TX DS/LKristyn Membreno 5'3 FR - Miami, FL Taylor Holly 5'1 FR - Bear, DE Hannah Wright 5'5 SR - Wilmington, DE Cadence Nguyen 5'3 JR - Virginia Beach, VA The Blue Hens had a great 2023 season besting conference powerhouse Towson (3-1) in the conference tournament to clinch a bid in the NCAA Tournament. This marked the first Conference Title, tournament or regular, and NCAA Tournament birth since 2011. The Blue Hens lose top scorer Manson, starting setter Basaranlar and starting libero Gex. Despite this the Blue Hens return Second Team All - CAA Kirah Johnson, who was 3rd in the conference in both hitting percentage and blocks per set. They also return CAA - All Rookie Gha’Naye Whitfield-Moss. As well as bringing back Savannah Seemans who lead the conference in aces per set. Despite the Blue Hens return a solid core of both starters and second string options this year looks to be somewhat of a rebuilding year. In her seventh season at the helm of the Blue Hens Lambert scheduled a rather soft Non-Con with the highest ranked team being Howard (168 RPI). Hopefully this will bode will for the Blue Hens and ensure everything is clicking well before conference starts. Likely the only way we'll see a NCAA Tournament birth is by winning the conference tournament again. I was glad to see Delaware back on the national stage once again last season and hope to see them back there again this season. Best of luck to all and Go Blue Hens!

Do my eyes deceive me? A thread about my alma mater's volleyball team?!? Thanks, dinonugs, for doing this. Good stuff, and I agree about rebuilding. I am wondering where the offense is going to come from without Mason. Maybe they can turn Murray into a threat - she had a great start in the middle last year before giving way to Whitfield-Moss.

I'm just glad someone else is interested in the Blue Hens. I was fully prepared to talk to myself in this thread all season. Glad to know I won't be entirely alone this year, lol. I agree with you about Murray I think if you combine her with Seemans the OHs should provide a solid offense. I'm a little more concerned with our setting and passing this year. Outside of Seemans we lost almost all of our service receive. Not to mention OPP is up for grabs as well.

I was wondering if Murray might be suited to OPP? I think Rogers will do ok with the setting - or at least I hope so. She seemed perfectly fine when she was splitting time with Ezgi, didn't she?

I could see Murray on either side, personally. I just said OH cause she's listed as an OH/MB but with her size and blocking ability she might be better at OPP. In regards to Rogers, I agree she seemed fine but not great. I'm more interested to see what Inman can do this season if I'm being completely honest. I was hoping to get see the possible lineups before the season starts but I don't see any exhibition matches on the schedule. We may have to wait until the Michigan game :/

Last season I was in Delaware for 3 weeks and went to some of their games. I was really impressed by them. Also, they have awesome facilities and a decent home crowd on weekends! I kept following their results after that and was happy to see them make the tourney.

Two Hens make preseason All-CAA teams: MB Kirah Johnson and OH Savannah Seemans, with MB Gha'Naye Whitfield-Moss earning HM recognition. Not bad.
Hens, with 3 first place votes, picked to finish second behind Towson (5 first place votes). Stony Brook and Charleston also had two players each named to the preseason All-CAA team.

Barrett is certainly strong. It will be interesting to see how the standings will be impacted with Towson losing Cajic and their starting setter from last year. With the setting question mark and a huge offensive gap to fill, I give the edge to the Hens

I will be at their opening match in Ann Arbor! This will be the first ever meeting between the two programs. It will be nice to see a quality CAA opponent for a change and this Michigan squad is beatable. Go Blue (Hens)!
