Wow! What a shock. It's odd that no reason at all is given.

I was wondering why she did not play at NU. Hope everything will turn out for the best for her.
This hurts the Gophers chances significantly and opens up an opportunity for another player.

Wow. That's a big deal.
I'm sure info will come out later, so all we can do is wait for now.

This is very surprising. How common is it for players to leave mid-season for other programs?

Good kid, great talent. I hope she is fine. I will be interested to see how vtalkers treat this, some programs get free passes on this type of thing others skewered. The loss of her as a player hurts them for sure, what the dynamic of her leaving does to them as a group will be another thing. I know this, Northrn Lights phone line is gonna be blowin up this morning. ( I bleieve that was her club)

This is very surprising. How common is it for players to leave mid-season for other programs? You can't leave for another program mid-season, which is why this almost never happens. I can't think of another one (although I'm sure there have been). Let's see. Primary passer, primary offensive option. This will require an adjustment or two.

What kind of program would sign an unstable player that would hang a top ten team out to dry mid-season?

Not sure if I like the use of the word "unstable". If Brook chooses to play next year I am sure there will be a program or two who would like to have her on their team. I'll miss Brook. I don't know her that well but I enjoyed the way she played. I wish her well. As far as the team goes, it may ramp up the learning curve of a couple of players. Time to shine, Tabi!!

Am I the only person who thinks Minnesota's program has been quite dysfunctional over the past 4-5 years? Bringing in transfers - even in their final season, players leaving at an alarming rate, coaching turn-over, unexpected losing streaks, not playing well in NCAA tournament....

Right, we shouldn't assume a player is "unstable," especially when we've seen nothing on the court that would give that impression.
College sports are a huge commitment and can create so much additional stress at a time when young people are starting to define themselves as individuals. With the travel schedules and practice schedules, it is tough to balance school with social life and team. I doubt we'll find out much more about the reasons, but I do know that it couldn't have been an easy decision that was made lightly.
As a fan I'm disappointed, but I am also curious to see how the team moves forward. I also really hope that Brook is OK and hope things work out for her.
