I never said Florida fans as a whole suck becuase of the amount of noise they make, i mean come on, when you get 3000 people together, if they are breathing, they will make alot of noise. Of course Mary is gonna say that the floirda fans were louder. What coach in their right mind would say that the three guys that came from knoxville were louder than their fans. Also, Florida does not get completely quiet when they are serving. The student section does stuff like chant rufio and sing the mario music. The reason why we are talking on here is not that we are bragging how much better we are than you. You all were the first to say that three pitiful guys made the trip. We are pissed off that you called us pitiful. We would never call anyone that travels from floirda pitiful. If one, and just one of the wiseguys game to knoxville and made a presence, i would probalby go shake his hand, and offer to take him to dinner because i think that is the most awesome thing he could have done for his team. Als, how are you gonna say that what we are saying is bull??? Why would i lie about people coming up to us after the game and telling us how awesome we were. I like those people, unlike you all, that somehow find a way to diss fans even if they drive around the country.
Uhhh A mac..... we are all in college, A drivers license isnt necessary, but if you want to talk crap to other college students at their own house, then you should probalby get one, like we did.
The whole point uf us talking is try and understand why you all are calling us pitiful. I dont want praise from you all, we already got enough of that from people after the game, but some respect would sure be nice.

For the record, I never called y'all pitiful and thought it was great you made the trip. I just took exception with you saying you dominated the crowd and were so much louder, when that was not the case at all. I guess you take exception with being called pitiful, I take exception with that.
I'd still like to know what you guys thought of Rob just giving up on YOUR team like that? If anything was pitiful, that was it.

I dont think Rob ever "gave up"... It may seem like it when he takes out Yuliya, Kelsey, Sarah, and Chelsea, but what i think really happened was... Our starting lineup wasnt really cutting it, so he was trying out other options to see which worked best. Obviously nothing really did. Our team is pretty deep and we have some awesome people that come off of the bench. The way we were playing yesterday... I dont think it would have mattered if he had left the starters in the whole time.

I'd still like to know what you guys thought of Rob just giving up on YOUR team like that? If anything was pitiful, that was it. I know a lot about most sports. Football, basketball, lacrosse, hockey, soccer, whatever. I want to be a football or basketball coach some day. In some ways, thats good. When I watch a game, I can enjoy a lot of intricate stratagies, adjustments, etc... But in some ways, it makes watching the game less fun. Even if my team is winning, I'm constantly mad that the coach isnt playing player x, or that he isnt making this adjustment on defense, or thr entire offensive gameplan isnt as good as it should be, or how we keep calling some certain play in the wrong situation. For example, earlier this season i watched my favorite football team (Air Force) almost upset Tennessee. They barely lost by one point. Obviously after the game i was crushed. But after a few days, most Air Force fans would probably think "well that was a great game and we played our best and allmost beat a top 15 team." Instead, i was mad because there were significant adjustments we should of made that could have made a huge difference, but we didnt. I love watching volleyball, and i want to keep it that way. So i actually try to avoid becoming an expert. I generally dont go back and look and review games carefully on tape. I dont go read up on in depth stratagies and junk. I don't want to spend the whole match going "god, why arnt we playing player x", or "why dont we do this." Now don't get me wrong, i still know a fair amount about volleyball. I dont just stand there going "oh my god tennessee, hit the the ball over the net, go team!" I know the basic rules, most of the terminology, i can explain the difference between a 5-1 and a 6-2, etc... I'm still a moderately knowledgeable fan, I'm just not an expert like football or basketball or something. The point of all that is i dont know enough to question rob patrick. I'm not going to assume he gave up just because some people on a message board felt he did. There could be a lot of other reasons for all the subs. I didn't notice much of a difference between when the starters were in the game and when the non starters were in the game anyways. Rob Patrick got our program where it is today, and so far ive seen every indication that he is a very good coach. That's good enough for me. BTW, the other reason i never say negative things, besides not feeling qualified, is that I'm not anonymous, and i know the players, coaches, and parents. I'm not close personal friends with any of them, but i do talk to them every so often. So even if i though we lost some game because "jill smith" played like crap, I'm not going to post "wow, jill smith played like crap tonight."

White flag!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (If I were as computer literate as you guys, I would have one waving here) GOOD GRIEF! Lunatics, you totally misinterpreted my remark. I didn't mean 'pitiful' as an indication of the quantity of fans that you brought from Tennessee. I meant that you literally looked PITIFUL when I looked over at you during the 2nd game. Pitiful as in bummed out because your team was losing. I sat across the court from you and quite frankly heard NONE of the cheers you guys have mentioned. I saw A-Mac because he was pretty animated and it was hard to miss him and his posters. I only knew you were Tennessee fans because of the flag in front of you. If you had not had the flag, I probably would not have noticed you, your school colors do kind of blend in a bit with Gator fans. I admire you for making the drive, that is great! I would love to make the drive to Tennessee on November 17. Can we call a truce? I did not mean to offend you. There's a lot of good natured teasing on this board and I was merely doing my share of it.

I didn't take it too serious. I'm sure the sight of three little people in a big section of florida fans looks pretty small.
The fact that the colors kindof blend it didnt help either...
FWIW during the second game we were not very loud during the points because we were much closer to our team than the UF players... We were much louder during the first and third games...

I'm not exactly sure. I know Julie is in Europe playing or trying to play somewhere, but i couldnt even tell you what country. Amy was on "Go Pro or Go Home," but she got "got homed." I would imagine she is still going to try and get into the beach volleyball thing, but i dont know for sure.
Last i heard Kristen went back to California and isnt playing volleyball in any really serious capacity, but i dont know that for sure either. I think i just overheard someone mentioning it something.

Ok, so, look at the picture at the bottom, This picture was taken at the intermision, and only one of us was sitting down becuase obviously i had to take the picture and brian was getting water. Are you telling me that you cant see Chance sitting there in orange behind the flag??/ There is no way you couldnt see three of us wearing the same thing. Also, we would have stood up and made way more noise, but we were respectufl of the UF students that wanted to sit behind us.
Kristen ended up going back to California and im pretty sure she was going to be a dentist or a dental assistant or something. Anyway, m pretty srue she isnt playing vball professionally, although she totally should have. Kristen was an awesome friendly person tho, so i think she cared about being with her family and friends more than anything else.
P.S..... Yes florida fans, Truce, as long as we arent called pitiful (even if it is joking) for dong something not all of you have done.

I don't want to beat a dead horse into the ground but.. I only noticed you guys because of the flag. I didn't call you pitiful because of what you did (drive a long way for a volleyball match). I called you pitiful because of the way you looked. How about : forlorn, sad, depressed, pathetic, mournful, doleful, miserable, plaintive, etc. < You guys. Like I said, I watch the match, I don't pay attention to the crowd. I didn't even watch the Dazzlers. I did get a kick out of the T-shirt cannon, though.
