Badgers lose 15-12........totally and unequivically inexcuseable.
Up two games to none, and this is the result.
Oh well. I knew things were going too well. Now we need to see the stats analysis.....once again, thank you, OSU, for your complete and riveting coverage. Spend a few bucks on a team other than your football cretins....
....we'll leave you to your 100 or so fans......

This is a bad loss for UW... OSU hasn't really beaten anyone of consequence this season... they folded against PSU, and they played decently at Purdue but couldn't put them away when it counted. Basically, this makes tomorrow night's match against PSU a must-win for the Badgers if they want to stay in the big ten race.
Incredibly close match, and I look forward to seeing the stats (and probably getting more frustrated), but at least tomorrow night we'll know what's going on during the match.

Hold on wiscvball....I feel as bad about this as anyone, but what OSU did is defend their home court....barely. They folded against PSU in Happy Valley. They lost at Purdue. If the Badgers had won this one, it would have been wonderful, but it isn't the end of the world, and tomorrow night isn't an absolute must win. But not finishing off this Buckeye team is very disappointing, home or away....

I may be taking it too hard... but UW was playing at a really high level in the last 4 matches and seemed to through the first 2 games of this match. OSU hasn't really presented a challenge for UW recently (see the 6-2 record in the Stacey Gordon era and 2-0 last year), so it's disappointing for UW to walk out of there losing 3 straight games. It's not a must-win for UW tomorrow, but it's close to it... I don't see PSU dropping many games, let alone matches for the rest of the season in the Big Ten. Hopefully they slip up against MN and UW at home, but you don't want to have to count on it in order to contend for the title.

A fun game would be predict the stats... how many blocks for UW vs. OSU? Who outhit who? What was Dolgners hitting %? How did the UW middles fare against the over-matched OSU middles?
I'll go with 16 blocks to 12, OSU outhit UW .241-.229, Dolgner with 21k, .170%, and UW middles hit .280 with about 7 blocks a piece.

If Dolgner hit .170, we should have won....I'm thinking she was way under that. I bet we won the blocking stats, but we obviously didn't get the ones we needed to get. Passing must have fallen apart in the last few games. I'm sure Wack got her 10 digs. If our middles only hit .280, we should have lost, because OSU has a weak middle game.Unfortunately, stats will only tell us so much, there is no substitute for watching a match.

Agreed.....I really wonder what happened the last three games. When you have someone down, you need to step on them.....at least, that's what my old soccer coach used to tell us....seems appropriate. I'm shocked at OSU's lack of volleyball support....what a joke.I hope we get some stats on their "website" before my clothes go out of style. At least we go to a decent venue tomorrow. Want to bet they didn't have more than 500 fans at this game?

Another fun one to pick would be how many kills for Marisa Main... I'll go with 12... including 3 in game 5.

Could be the case w/Dolgner's hitting percentage if Carlini hit equally low.. she has been known to perform "under expectations" against good teams on the road.
