I am just amazed at how much Kari Gregory is improving, I hope she can keep it up. Jamie Houston is hot right now, she better keep it up as well.

I saw tonite's match. I agree with IB's statement about aaronic being too harsh on the Wahine. NMSU is no way near the Wahine's playing caliber, neither is Notre Dame. OTOH, as aaronic lamented, the Wahine played sloppy in the third game. Just imagine they maintaining the same energetic level throughout the whole match, and all the games from here on- I think they are conteneders, they are for real.

I also like to add that the top 10 teams have shown their wooden legs too, not just Hawaii. While some of them are being demoted, Hawaii's going back up. If hawaii had passed as well in the preseason matches as they did tonight, would they have lost 4 games? I personally don't think so.

If Hawaii passed half as well as they did tonight the first night against Cal Poly, that game would be a "W." UCLA was no contest. Stanford might have been closer, but still an "L" at that time with all the adjustments UH was still making. Florida would have still won at that time, as well.

FWIW, many times when watching a UH match on TV, I feel similarly to what aaronic is saying. I was at the match tonight, and when I am at the game, I am not as critical of the wahine. They did not play well at times, but very few teams play perfectly all the time. I hope aaronic is able to attend a few games in person and see if he still feels as critical.
BTW, what's up with all the net violations? Is the net invisible on their side?

UCLA really had only Nana the workhorse. The Wahine stood a chance with them too.

The issue with TV is they don't show you everything that is happening. I'll have to try to catch the replay. Still, it's pretty difficult to see the ranting when you're friends with the players. I hope you enjoyed your seats, now you probably have a better feeling of my point-of-view during the games.

Yep, net violations were due to poor passing mainly. We need people like Aaronic to bring ironic humor on this board. As you were saying Mauiboy, in person it's a whole different view. The Wahine still has passing woes but I think hittingwise they are up there with anyteam in the top 10.

Where were you sitting, IB?

UCLA really had only Nana the workhorse. The Wahine stood a chance with them too. You're wrong, Nana did beat Hawaii up, but she didn't nearly do as much damage as Katie Carter did. 24 kills(.425%) compared to 12 kills by Meriwether(.391%).

IB, against UCLA and FLorida and the others they lost to, the Wahine passed poorly. Because of this they fell into a stupor- like demeanor, like "what are we gonna do now?" "Don't look at me, it's not my fault." UCLA? yes, UCLA was on high gear throughout. But I don't think that the game with the Wahine is a good measure of either's talent.
