Nebraska's best chance in winning a championship was with Saleaumua...........Im not faulting Nebraska at their conference, but look at their first 7 matches they scheduled talk about easy wins. I'd have to agree. Penn State had tougher matches than Nebraska. however neither of them had tougher matches than the pac10 teams Ummm.. Avergage Pablo rankings for the non-conference teams show that Nebraska had by far the toughest non-conference matches with Penn State and Washington having the weakest by a pretty good margin over USC, UCLA, Stanford, and California. Penn State | Pablo | Nebraska | Pablo | Washington | Pablo | Stanford | Pablo | UCLA | Pablo | USC | Pablo | California | Pablo | Nicholls State | 268 | San Diego | 17 | Ohio | 29 | UCSB | 40 | Tennessee Tech | 196 | Texas - Pan American | 250 | Montana | 165 | Rice | 154 | Saint Mary's | 49 | Texas | 8 | BYU | 28 | Western Michigan | 120 | North Texas | 140 | UC Davis | 165 | LSU | 16 | Middle Tennessee | 74 | Davidson College | 188 | Virginia Commonwealth | 127 | Cincinnati | 63 | Texas State | 167 | Baylor | 32 | Eastern Kentucky | 178 | LBSU | 25 | Morehead State | 129 | Texas A&M Corpus Christi | 239 | Colorado | 25 | Fresno State | 180 | Xavier | 92 | West Virginia | 262 | Louisville | 44 | Liberty | 254 | Northwestern | 56 | Florida | 9 | Utah | 7 | Oral Roberts | 45 | Duke | 21 | Cal Poly | 15 | Portland State | 72 | Fairfield | 142 | Hawaii | 23 | Tennessee | 30 | Florida International | 69 | Missouri | 13 | Minnesota | 12 | UMBC | 219 | Hawaii | 23 | Texas State | 167 | Florida State | 66 | Colorado State | 42 | Texas | 8 | _ | _ | North Dakota State | 96 | Santa Clara | 21 | Georgia | 169 | South Carolina | 71 | American | 159 | Tennessee State | 146 | _ | _ | Gonzaga | 168 | Georgetown | 235 | Denver | 116 | St. Johns | 42 | Pepperdine | 38 | Lehigh | 310 | _ | _ | Fresno State | 180 | Saint Mary's | 49 | Towson university | 102 | Pepperdine | 38 | Pacific | 123 | Miami University | 146 | _ | _ | UC Davis | 165 | _ | _ | Florida International | 69 | Purdue | 14 | Yale | 127 | _ | _ | _ | _ | _ | | _ | _ | Long Island | 108 | _ | _ | _ | _ | _ | _ | _ | _ | _ | | _ | _ | Maryland | 156 | _ | _ | _ | _ | Avg. Okay, one last thing about tonight's match.
This is where it shows that I frequent this forum more often than I should:
Ali Daley replaced Kaitlin Sather around the 3rd game, I believe, and I swear I heard in my head, "Ali Daley's mom, back to serve."
That's all. Goodnight! ;D

HOLY SH*T!!! Congrats to Stanford!!! Just came home and was a little dissapointed after learning about the Wahine's loss, but the Card's victory helped to ease the pain. Proud of Foluke, she is trully a great athlete and essential to the team. Props to Richards for her backrow defense and game winning ace. Barboza, Stanford would stuggle without a terminator like you. I believe this year, Girard is their X-Factor, and when she can distract the opponent's middle and sneak in some kills, the Card's are VERY tough to beat. Congrats to UCLA for their great effort. I guess all good things must come to an end (like undefeated streaks! ) Will they air the match on FSN here in HI???

Stanford scores the first big win of the season, a big win, against another top team on the road.

Are we defining messing up in the NCAA's as Blowing out UCLA, blowing out Florida, Blowing out Santa Clara and than losing in the NCAA FInal? Because if we are, I hope they keep messing up.

I'm talking about their loss to USC in the 2005 Regional Finals (where Cook was seen mouthing the word *uck on national TV) and who would forget UW trashing them last year. ALl of these, they were the #1 seed over-all. Guess that is a minor misstep? Or they are just not that good!

So far they seem to be good enough. When the tournament comes around, we'll worry about that then.

Nebraska's #1 because they didn't go out and lose to BYU. Nebraska will cower as soon as they meet the Pac-10 in the tourney. All talk.....Pavan will not deliver her three-peat promise.

As if being the #1 seed means you should win it all, or you messed up. Can I asked why you left out the year they were the #1 seed and won it all? Where were the Cardinal last year.?How about the Cardinal in the final vs PSU?, and on and on and on, for any of the teams that are in that position consistantly. Again, if you are defining failure, as losing in 5 in regional finals and losing in the final, you're absolutely right. I am assuming your not a Stanford grad, and if you are a Stanford grad, the degree no longer impresses me.
