Maybe she's academically ineligible. Somehow I doubt Meredith would go from back-to-back years of being on the Academic All Big 10 list to being academically ineligible this season.

I assumed that was a joke (albeit not a great one), since it wouldn't be possible to become academically ineligible in the middle of the Iowa match.

Oh c'mon. It was funny.
Although I would have gone for "she must have played in a grass tournament in Ames on the way down to Iowa City."
If you watched the Wisconsin match, you could tell she wasn't 100%. They sure need her healthy for this weekend.

I didn't notice it in the Wisconsin match (I remember how pale she looked at Nebraska, though), but I guess Gopher fans have to be glad she can play so well when she's not 100% because she sure will be important this weekend. Oh, I like the grass tournament one better, too.
