Cal in 4. I emailed GameTracker early this season with the comment, "Looks like another frustrating year watching games on Gametracker." I received a polite reply saying that all of the problems happen in the gyms. I don't think so... ArizonaAthletics.com is operating on XOS software. Seriously - I think it's usually because of an internet connection disruption, and then the software craps out when the connection is reestablished. XOS and CSTV software seems to have the same issues. I do think they could probably rewrite their software to completely refresh when there's a connection disruption.

Looks like a shake-up in the top 6 in the poll is heading our way. Stanford moves to #2, PSU drops at least one if not more spots. UW leap frogs over both U$C and UCLA........gonna be a very interesting post season for sure!

Volleyball Falls to Huskies in Four Bruins return to action next Friday night vs. ASU at Pauley
Oct. 27, 2006
SEATTLE - In a battle between two top-six volleyball teams, No. 4 UCLA fell to No. 6 Washington on Friday night with game scores of 28-30, 30-24, 30-27, 30-27. UCLA is now 22-2 on the season with a Pac-10 record of 9-2.
Because Washington's statistics computer was hit by a Christal Morrison kill during the second game of the match, breaking the monitor, statistics are currently unavailable for the match.
The Bruins return home for their next two matches, playing host to Arizona State on Friday, Nov. 3, at 7 pm.

Nice one Christal, lol. Nice win for the Huskies, now they have to take down Stanford to win the conference. Because even if UCLA takes Stanford down (which they won't), Stanford and Washington will tie and battle it out before the NCAA tournament

1) No, just because there were a lot of errors does not mean it was an ugly match. There were a lot of blocks, hence a lot of attack errors.
2) However, UW set the outside too much, especially in game 1.
3) Sandell had a bad night. Colleymore replaced her in game 3 and did much, much better.
4) Court started setting Dees and Brick more in game 3 and 4. UCLA could not stop Dees on the slide.
5) UCLA scrambles to the ball very, verl well. They got to some balls that I never thought they could.
6) Nana was unstoppable in 1 and 2, and couldn't buy a hit in 3 and 4. Oh, she got some even then, but UW was digging most of her hits. Miyashiro really turned it up a notch in 3 and 4 and was digging Nana much, much better.
7) I swear that Spicer throws 1/3 of her sets with two hands from behind her head. She does, however, set a very fast game.
8) UW seemed to be in slow motion in games 1 and 2.
9) Stevie Mussie is taking serving lessons from the Aratani Serving School - and doing it well. I assume it is to lessen the strain on her knew.
10) Yes, Alix Klineman was there - all decked out in a white "Washington" sweatshirt. She clapped when the Huskies scored all night. She did a little "jig" when we won Game 4, had a huge grin on her face, and "High Fived" all the UW players.
11) This was one of the worst officiated college games I have seen in a while. There were obvious doubles not being called, phantom doubles being called, various weird calls. Court really gave the ref a peice of her mind a couple of times.
12) There were some very, very long rallies. Some of which featured great plays and some of which looked like 7th grade jungle ball. Sometimes on the same rally.

Someone asked why UW doesn't have a webcast. The answer is simple - it is a Fox Sports game and we are not allowed to have a webcast of a televised game. The did have a webcast last night (with Carolyn Farny from last year's team doing color commentary) but with this one being on FSN there is no webcast.

ARGH! I'd just composed my own summary of the game, a match for Husky VB Fan's, and the board ate it! Nana wasn't a whole lot more stoppable in games 3 and 4. And her blocking deserves mention as well. I think game 3 was when she single-handedly shut down UW's pipe set (at least from Mussie). It will be worth watching this on TV just for some of those long rallies. Two of them really stand out. Some of the most skilled jungle ball I've ever seen. The officiating left a lot to be desired, but it was even-handed in the sense that I think both teams have something to complain about. The refs reversed themselves a few times. The peak of it was a play that ended with the ball hitting the net and going out on the hitter's side. The refs couldn't agree on whether it had hit the blocker's arms first, and in the end decided to replay the point. It's the fair thing to do, I suppose, but I hate it when the refs essentially didn't see what happened. That's what they're there for. There were errors on both sides that didn't seem characteristic of a top-10 team. You know the 7 BEs in the stat sheet for UCLA? Several times they were called for touching the net, and it seemed to happen *after* the hit, as the players turned to play the ball after the dig. What's up with that? Flow of the match: 1. UCLA owned game 1. UW kept close, but UCLA got too far ahead. The Huskies got their composure back and pulled within 1, but UCLA won 30-28. 2. UW owned game 2, plain and simple. 3. UCLA seemed in control in game 3, at least until Jim sent Jill Collymore in. I think it's the first time I've seen her come in at RS/Opp, but I guess Sandell was struggling and we needed someone who could hit over the block better. It worked, and the Huskies pulled out game 3. BTW, this is about the time when the crowd started really getting into the match. 4. I would say the Huskies had the advantage all through game 4 as well, but they had to work for it. They inched ahead until Jill Collymore served for several straight points. That forced the Bruins to take a timeout, which did not stop the run, and held the advantage until the end of the match.

Well, looks like UCLA really is the #3 team in the Pac-10. They're a little better than what (R)uffda! thought, but not a whole lot. With the top 3 in the Pac-10 keeping very close, they might be FF teams if put in the right brackets
