If Pavan would get Natiional Player of the Year for 06 ,that would give the Huskers two Players of the Year on the court at the same time in 07. Has that ever happened before in NCAA history?

The possibility is exciting!! You wonder how the chemistry would be between Pavan, Larson, and Houghtelling??

Why would we wonder, they all played together last year? Houghtelling is "instant chemistry" great spirit, totally unselfish, outwardly competitive.

After reading the article in the LJS today I think Houghtelling will be so happy to be back on the floor she won't care who is on the floor with her. I agree with Keystone, she has a lot of class and the 3 of them played great together last year, I don't know why next year would be any different.

Yes...I agree with all those things about Houghtelling. I would describe Metcalf with the same great characteristics but the chemistry was not quite there when she returned. Its going to be a great time finding out though.

I just hope Houghtelling's shoulder is back to full strength. Recovery from shoulder surgery isn't as easy as say an ACL tear. Houghtelling is all about team. Metcalf was not.

I have had 3 rotator cuff surgeries, two on one shoulder.....I had a great surgeon and even with that I can tell you that making a full recovery from an actual TORN ROTATOR CUFF MUSCLE is a tough rehab.....many do not make it back to full strength....I wish her luck, she is a stud!!

I don't know if I agree with your comment about Metcalf. Upon her return the University plastered her pic on every volleyball promo. I am sure Metcalf didn't ask for the special attention.

She was dynamite. Several former Huskers whom I know personally said she was exceptionally difficult to play with. Cook said in his post game comments in 2001 that the team could not overcome some of the dynamic personalities on the team.

Yup!!! I think NU is really proud of Nancy especially given her success on the national team. All Husker fans should be!

I've heard the same of Nancy in terms of her personality, including while being on the NT.

That might be true about Melcalf, I have no idea. It is interesting (and also really, really annoying) that they won the national title the year she didn't play. Still, while Barry Bonds might be a jerk, don't you still want him on your team if you are trying to win? I think chemistry can help a team win, but talent often trumps everything.

I thought Logan was the only prima-donna on the National Team?
