If Dolgner's hitting % improves, I could see her making all big 10. If Walbridge continues to play like she has the last 5 matches, she could very well make all conference-2.7 kills, 1.4 blocks, while hitting .575. For COY I think I'd go with Russ at this point, leading a young team(starting 2 frosh and 3 sophs) to a one loss record.

I don't want to sound like a Minnesota basher here, but I don't know if both Jones and Nelson would make it at this point. I think Minnesota's closest player to a lock is Peniata. Statistically, only big ten matches factor into making the all-big ten team. Nelson has great offensive numbers, 3.4kpg at a .322 clip, but only blocks .92 times per game. Jones blocking is up over 1.2pg, but her hitting is at a .270% (2.77 kills).
Roerhig probably won't make first team or HM, her hitting % is much too low. 2.9kpg @ .184%.
I'd have the first team like this: Fawcett/Hodge/Harmotto/Glass - PSU Simpson/Reineke/Dolgner - UW Peniata/Nelson - Minnesota Merlau - Purdue Main OR Meyer - OSU (person who doesn't make it is HM) Johnson OR Schatzle - MSU (again, person who doesn't make it is HM)
HM: Main OR Meyer - OSU Johnson OR Schatzle - MSU Brudzinski - Michigan Walbridge - PSU Lynch - Purdue I'd like to see another Libero here - maybe Nobilio or Wack?
If anyone had to switch between the teams, I'd probably drop Dolgner to HM (unless her % gets above .260, currently at .243) and add the second OSU player to the first team.
All Freshman Team - I like Don't Know Jack's - I think he nailed it.
POY: Fawcett FOY: Hodge COY: Rose (Schondell if Purdue can claw their way into 3rd?) DPOW: Peniata

amendment to my previous list....maybe Gray instead of gurnell -- take gray out of the mix, and purdue is at the bottom of the pack. take gurnell out, run a 5-1 with gray, and they are still legit (well, we hope they are!)

Lynch should be the canidate from Purdue. 7th in hitting percentage and 10th in blocking.

I would replace Merlau with Lynch. She has been much more consistant.

Walbridge's hitting % is very good, yet her kill total is very low. Less than 2 KPG. Maybe too low this year for consideration. I'm not sure her total is her fault. She just seemed to be out of the offense till recently.

Like it was said if she continues at this rate and considering her blocks etc. she should be a consideration.

What about Wack? Hasn't she been one of the top liberos in the Big 10 this season?

Wack needs to be recognized for her efforts. HM _at least_. That streak should not go unnoticed.

The Big Ten has a new system for selecting POY based on points for kills, digs, blocks, aces. Based on stats, Hodge will pretty clearly be the POY in the conference, and she should.

Yeah, I don't see how Fawcett beats Hodge if they take only big10 stats into consideration. Hodge beats Fawcett by 1.3 kills, 2 digs. .06 blocks, and has 10 more aces in B10 play. Fawcett only beats Hodge in hitting percentage(.301 to .256). In response to bomber, no way Dolgner isn't first team all-big 10 at this point. She is av eraging 4.7 kills and 2.5 digs. Carlini is averaging 3.4 kills and 1.3 digs. Reinke and Simpson should both be locks for first team all big 10, so if Wisconsin finishes 2nd, I think they deserve to have 3 all big 10 and either Wack or Carlini at HM.

One would have thought that after her season last year, Reineke was a lock for the Pre-season team, but obviously, there were those who didn't agree. Her numbers are even better this year, but who knows? And last year, the Badgers finished second, and only had two All Conference selections. I'd like to agree with you, Barryi, but sometimes these post season awards can be very surprising.
