Okay I know that everyone in here has a favorite setter. Whom is the best in the NCAA now? I don't care about stats either. I mean based on physical ability and naturalness in that position. Holloway from Nebraska is one of the best trained setters I've ever seen come out of that region of the US. But she's not my favorite....

FWIW, I think some interesting stats to compare are on these two pages: Page1Page2

Debbie Green, LBSU assistant coach.
Hey, you just said NCAA. You didn't actually say the setter had to be an active college player.

I was a pretty good setter myself in rec league. I can set a 31 lying on my back.

Debbie Green, LBSU assistant coach. Hey, you just said NCAA. You didn't actually say the setter had to be an active college player. Misty May wasn't a natural setter, but I think she was the best ever in NCAA history. Her ability to run such a quick offense, attack the ball so efficiently, and get her hitters one on one so much of hte time was unmatched by any other setter I can remember in years.

I would say Debbie Green too.
For active setters, I would say McGinnis from Florida. Although I have been told the kid from Hawaii is pretty spectacular.

I know they are only Freshman, but that could be what impresses me the most about their game this year. Alisha Glass (Penn State) and Rachel Holloway (Nebraska - Redshirt Freshman)

I have to go with Nellie Spicer, she is quick and has soft hands.

I also go with Nellie. Although CT from Washington has better statistics than her, Nellie is soo quick and deceptive. Courtney from Washington is a phenom setter as well.

ye @least have the 'don't care about the stats' statement absolutely correct stats are utterly deceptive only losers totally care about it any skills should be based on how it was xcecuted and against what challenges it was xcecuted against meaning when ye observe the skill being performed was it performed in a conventional way or unconventional way (not 'txtbook' xcecution) but the outcome of its xcecution was still the same as when it was performed in a conventional way i.e. when spicer and/or kehoe force the middle sets (whether a 31 a 1 the bck 1 or the slide) as they chase down a shanked pass and they had to xcecute 1 of the aforementioned sets in an unconventional way but still set the ball in the proper location w/xcellent touch (no spin or very little spin) as it comes out of their hands if that is the case then that's the sign of a stud setter yes these are the 2 best setters in the country and have been since they were freshmen (kehoe's injury however set her bck big time but since stanford played the l.a teams her kickarse setting abilities came back though not as good as her performance in the post season when they won the title as a freshman) for the moment spicer's touch is unmatched no matter where she sets the ball and in what position she sets the ball kehoe had the same touch b4 she was injured but the degree of difficulty when the ball is set still goes to spicer just watch the match against uw and ye'll see how much of a stud she is as a setter there were several sets she xcecuted in that match that no human at this pt in time could match in all aspects (degree of difficulty when it was xcecuted location and the hardest of all to achieve is touch) she's like a tyler hildebrandt of wvb or a slightly less injured me yes i have to mention myself since i can pull that kind of feat 1 handed and blindfolded and yes i won about $300 against those who foolishly bet against me when i guaranteed i'd xcecute mindbogling sets during an open tourney match @ the aa division in fact nobody even thought that i'd be able to get to the ball let alone set it where i said i was gonna set it and w/no spin on the ball for a no blocker hit heck if i could set a fast d ball from the endline on the leftside of the court that hit the lite blinded by that same lite 30ft above me w/terrible spin on that ball b4 i got my hands on it all while sprinting to get under the ball then jumpset it all the way back to the frnt rite side of the court in front of the backrow hitter and 4ft away from the net w/nary a spin then i have to mention myself as a stud setter i could mention other unbelieveable sets w/precise location and nectar touch but then that'd be pretentious and i leave such to the wannabes i'll just keep on perfecting my skills and keep it lopro btw a 31 set on yer back is a joke for anything set in front of ye is nothing to a skilled setter any1 could set that heck my 6mo old nephew could set that and he does it w/no spin to boot it's like stating that stacey gordo n is a good player when she's merely nothing more than a mediocre player @best during her last 2yrs in college or stating that cepero is a champion when she couldn't even set her team to more than 1 title hahaha winning 1 title is nothing unless ye competed w/the best teams every wk and coming from the bottom in just a mere 4yrs or so like uw did other than that every1 else are losers
