I have a quick question for those that know...it concerns redshirts...
Are redshirts allowed to warm-up with the team? If so why isn't Alicia warming up with the team during the matches because Dani Mafua warms up with the team?
I thought Alicia was redshirting this year to build her confidence back up and improve her game, wouldn't warming up with the team help improve her game by getting in as much reps as she can?

Any player who is otherwise eligible to practice should be able to suit up and warm up. The key to a redshirt is in not actually participating in outside competition.

Then if they are allowed to warm up then how come Alicia isn't warming up with the team? And regarding Dani Mafua it is hard to tell because she really isn't setting anyone in warm-ups or having to chase down passes and so forth. It is hard to tell unless you actually see her in a game time situation. But from what I've heard she is a decent setter that will be able to pull it off next season. Of course it will be hard for her since she is following Kanoe, but to the majority of all setters coming in that would be a hard task. She should do an okay job. Because we all know that she is no Kanoe and everyone can't expect her to put up sets and do the job Kanoe did. But you never know she might become an all-American setter. We just have to wait and see.

There are a lot of girls on the Hawaii home-court roster... are there not limitations on how many can warm up? Be suited up?

Hey do you Hawai'i fans think that 6'3 Amanda Simmons will redshirt next season or what? I truely feel that Hawai'i has too many players on their roster.

I would say there is a good chance that Simmons will redshirt given Sanders, Gregory, and Thomas. And the fact that two of them will be Seniors next year... Since Kaufman was supposed to redshirt this year, does anyone think that she will redshirt next year instead? (Assuming all the hitters and back and healthy?)

I doubt that Kaufman will redshirt next season, by that time she's already ahead. I think she has that RS position locked down...what do you guys think? is she better than keefe on the RS?

Hawaii has a lot of options for next year don't they? What a good dilemma to be in.

There's no room for Alix Klineperson. In fact, if she commits to Hawaii, she would have to redshirt next season. That's what I heard from my Bruddahs down in Waipahu.

Let's give Keefe a chance to recuperate before we write her off. But if Kaufman develops to her potential she'll be hard to beat on out on the RS.
Also remember that Aneli Otineru is most likely coming. Despite people saying she's too short I really do think that she's good enough to play RS. And if AK comes she'll be given a LS starting position which means that either Houston or Hittle could be moved to the RS. And don't forget Arnott might also figure into the equation.

Wow, Hawaii is so stacked everywhere, I don't think there's room for the likes of me in the stands. Me thinks some of the fans would have to redshirt.
