Redondo Union just beat Mira Costa 15-13 in the fifth in the CIF finals. They served Klineman every chance and she didn't handle it well. That was the key to victory. Very high quality VB for high school.
Redondo lost the first two and then won the next two. They were down something like 9-4 in the fifth and then came back to win it all.

The CIF Finals aren't happening for another two weeks - at San Jose State.

Bledsoe is quite an athlete... Florida's getting a good one.
Fonoimoana (sp?) -- only a freshman and already 6'3" and punishing the ball... impressive...

Sorry about that. So that means the best team in high school vb with possibly the best player ever doesn't even get a sniff of the finals this year? Wow! I know, that's not very nice but if she had even given Nebraska a chance, I would be a lot nicer

Yup, I think serving Klineman, even when she's in the backrow, is the key.
TCA targeted her as well last summer in beating Long Beach for the 18 JO.

My impressions of the CIF-SS 1-AA finals:
- Klineman - phenomenal all-around volleyball player. Smooth, polished. Only weakness is that she is not terminal enough on offense.
- Fonoimoana - if she continues on the path she is on right now, will be an even bigger sweepstakes recruit than Klineman.
- Bledsoe - middle may not be the position for her when she gets to Florida. Big and strong, but not exceptionally quick. Mira Costa runs just about the slowest first-tempo attacks I've seen from an elite level program.
Redondo flat out-played Mira Costa. If I had to vote for a match MVP, my vote would go to the Redondo libero.

She's originally from Brazil they said, but she doesn't have any of that on the court attention %*$# syndrome like Gentil. Bledsoe will be playing right side at UF.

By virtue of their CIF-Southern Section title, Redondo will get an automatic bid to the state tournament. I'd just about guarantee that Mira Costa will get an at-large bid.

The libero transferred from Mira Costa, after they told her all the varsity positions were locked up.

This is the first time I've actually seen Klineman play, and I think she made the right choice in Stanford. She could have played in the Nebraska system as well. I don't see the fit if she had gone to either Washington or Hawaii, her game doesn't suit the system at either one of these schools.

No, they can still win the state title if they get into the state playoffs, which I'm sure they will. Right, Mira Costa is still in the SoCal championships. The top 2 in each of the Divisions of the Southern section will play the top 2 of San Diego sections. The winner will represent SoCal and will play the NorCal winner. If Mira Costa rebounds, they might play Mitty of San Jose for the State championships.

I'm sure Mira Costa is anxious to get back out on the court and play again.

The last time Mitty played Mira Costa, they got creamed at the Santa Barbara championships.
