I wouldn't serve Klineman. She is a senior in high school, so I doubt that she could pass for 21, even with a good fake. Also, if you do, the liquor control board could really come down on you if they find out.

Who is this Kelli Murphy...We've never heard of her?? Does she play for the National Team or Youth National with Tarrah Murray or Amanda Gill???
As far as the REAL DEAL...2008's top guns are Tarrah Murray and Amanda Gill!! (Sp)
I read on an earlier post about Mitty getting creamed by Costa. My husband and I watched this great match; since our daughter's team didn't make the finals. Mitty's freshmen hit a few of Costa big player, 1st she hit Alix in the face when she was blocking her...Alix look a little stunned and their blooded their setter's nose on a kill at the 10 foot line. Gill didn't have a problem hitting her slide over Alix's hands or have a problem blocking her. I think Mitty lost because of their service error's and a few coaching error's. They could have put 3 hitter's against Costa's stronger rotation and ran a faster offense on the 2nd at Klineman, since she was having a problem digging..No service errors and a few changes to the line up and folks we have a different ball game.
I must say, the quote in the paper the next morning...was a little distasteful. Costa's coach needs to show a little more class and trickle some down to her players when talking about the talent of some of their opponents. We read this mornings paper, hopefully Stanford will teach their young recruit how to properly speak to the press after a big upset like last night's. Bottom line you win some, you lose some...but have class.. no one expects you to be afraid.
To Alix...you are an amazing talent...but you will be surrounding by amazing talent..Good luck at Stanford you deserve it!!!
Go Mitty...our team didn't make the final's but we will be voting for you to win State for Northern California!!!!

See what happens is this...
Let's say you can rate a girl's abilities/skills from 0-100, where 100 represents flawless superheroine player. You can rate someone based on blocking, jumping, attacking, serving, passing, digging, footspeed, lateral movement, etc. Combine it all through some formula to get an overall rating. Of course, it's a dynamic rating so it varies, given the consistency of the player. So, a player like Angelica Ljungquist of Hawaii may have a rating of 96 with a variance of +/-2 based on her moods, her health, etc. You know, real life stuff. Game to game. Sometimes, she was 98, other times, 94. A player like Kim Glass may have a rating of 91 but a variance of +/-5 because of her inconsistency. So, Glass can be as high as 96 or as low as 86.
Anyway, a rookie or freshman player like Klineman may only be in her high 70s because she obviously doesn't have the experience to gain all that knowledge and skillset of the Div I player. But she may have a very high potential, so she may go from 76 her first year to 82 her second, to 87 her third year, and finally 94 her fiinal year. And over the years, her consistency variance would go down from inconsistent +/-5 to a more consistent +/-2 from freshman to senior years. But right now, players like Kari Gregory and Juliana Sanders and obviously, Sarah Pavan, and Cynthia Barboza are waaaay above Klineman.
Or you could be like Jameka Stevens who had a rating of, say, 72, coming in with oodles of potential but because of her mental state and injuries, she progressed to only 73 her second year and then dropped to 69 and finally, off the map.
So, before we crown Alix Klineman as the "second coming" of anything, let's realize her skills are probably much lower than a lot of current collegians and it'll take hard work and dedication to get her to reach her potential.

As far as the REAL DEAL...2008's top guns are Tarrah Murray and Amanda Gill!! (Sp) Kelly Murphy is a 6'1" hitter/setter from Ohio. She was MVP of the 2006 JO 16 Open for Sports Performance (I hear they don't "play up" players in higher age groups). Just for reference, these are the proper spellings (which should help with any internet search). Amanda Gil Kelly Murphy Tarah Murrey

BC, sorry about last night's football result. I think USC is better, but it would be great to see Cal get to a Rose Bowl after they got hosed a couple years ago.

I was watching the CIF-NCS D-III Final (Analy at Campolindo) with a radio in my ear. I thought my portable TV might work, but there's a little impediment called the Berkeley Hills.

Bledsoe is quite an athlete... Florida's getting a good one. Fonoimoana (sp?) -- only a freshman and already 6'3" and punishing the ball... impressive... What do you think, she has Samoan blood in her....6'3, punishing the ball when hitting it in someones face or straight to the floor, she's Samoan.

No, they can still win the state title if they get into the state playoffs, which I'm sure they will. Right, Mira Costa is still in the SoCal championships. The top 2 in each of the Divisions of the Southern section will play the top 2 of San Diego sections. The winner will represent SoCal and will play the NorCal winner. If Mira Costa rebounds, they might play Mitty of San Jose for the State championships. Does this mean both these teams will meet Juliann Faucette in the state tourney...That would be exciting. #1 Klinemen vs. #2 Faucette ! Wow how exciting. Juliann is from San Diego right?

Kelly Murphy is an amazing athlete that should be a top three recruit, could be no 1. She is a lefty that can set the ball amazingly well (spri) and can turn and hit like you've never seen.
