Ok so now that all the important Pac-10 matches are out of the way, lets have some fun and put together the perfect pac-10 team and the close runner up. What 6 girls would be the most dominant on the floor together. The first team probably won't differ to much, but the second teams should be interesting
My Choice
First Team Setter: Courtney Thompson-UW Libero: Deborah Siellhammer- USC OH: Asia Kaczor- USC OH: Kristen Richards- Stanford MB: Nana Meriwether- UCLA MB: Dominique Lamb- Arizona
Second Team Setter: Nellie Spicer- UCLA Libero: Tamri Miyashiro- UW OH: Christal Morrison- UW OH: Cynthia Barboza- Stanford MB: Foluke Akinradewo- Stanford MB: Ellen Orchard- Cal
mmm even a match between these two teams would be a really close 5 gamer, but I'd give it to the first team because of sheer experience... almost all of them are graduating this year lol.

I'd take Akinradewo over Lamb. And Barboza over Richards.

so who takes PAC-10 player of the year honors?
from the matches i've seen, i'd say it goes to either of this trio:
Meriwether Barboza Morrison
... in that order.

Perfection does not exist. Perfection is boring. Flaws are what make life interesting and tolerable.
Thanks, in advance.

I'd go with Meriwether as well. Even in UCLA's losses, she continued to be statistically dominant. I know numbers don't tell the whole story, but the sheer magnitude of her hitting % and blocks/game cannot be overlooked. Who else can come close?

Barboza is just overrated !!! Seriously !! Tom was so much better then her I disagree. Tom was (and still is) a great player, but Barboza is potentially an even better player.

Nana Meriweather is not a good defensive player. She is more offensive....and we all know that. The PAC-10 Player of the Year will definitely go to Morrison. Now personally...I would rather see it go to a setter like Thompson or Spicer.

Meriwether's second in the country in blocks per game! by your standards then, no middle blocker is worth a damn defensively.... well except maybe the one player ranked above Meriwether... ??

I guess the problem with the initial post is that 6 players including libero would not make a playable team; you'd need 7 and specify who's the opposite.
Also - Angie Pressey is where?

Kehoe stole her thunder in every catagory, and when they played UCLA Spicer was the better setter too. So is CT is great as everyone makes her out to be?
