I think a team with Barboza (Stanford), Morrison (UW), Meriwether (UCLA), Akinradewo (Stanford), Spicer (UCLA) and Seilhammer (USC)/Donahue (AZU) would be overwhelming for any team to go up against.
Nellie can feed any of the hitters great sets on the run and away from the blockers. Barboza and Morrison have good offense/defense, Meriwether and Akinradewo are can block just about anything and Seilhammer or Donahue can dig just about anything.

I was very disapointed in how courtney played aginst stanford tonight. Kehoe stole her thunder in every catagory, and when they played UCLA Spicer was the better setter too. So is CT is great as everyone makes her out to be? Coaches know that if you get into her mind, she'll implode. Stanford took advantage of that tonight.

I love Courtney, but isn't that what happened in 2004 in the semis?

I think Thompson would be the best setter for the dream team of conference players. She was very impressive when I saw her at the AVCA and is just a dynamic leader who doesn't make a lot of mistakes with placement. She was also really good at fooling the block when they ran the back row attack. If you have great hitters, I think she is a better fit than Spicer at this point. Spicer is the setter you want if your hitters aren't as good. Nellie will try to make any set, and it will backfire at times on her. If you have great hitters, you don't need to take those risks. She is really talented and fun to watch, though. She might be able to carry UCLA a long way despite the fact they only have one standout hitter. It also speaks to the talent at the position in the conference that no one has mentioned Carter here, and Kehoe is good as well.
