Ooooooooh. Thank you! The nice thing about a chart like that is the number of ways to pull numbers of it. For instance, the number of top-20 (Pablo) teams in a subregional ranges from 0 to 3. Number of top-20 (Pablo) teams, by regional: Florida | Hawaii | Washington | Texas | (Nebraska) | (UCLA) | (Penn State) | (Stanford) | 4 | 8 | 3 | 6 |
(because of a tie in Pablo, there are 21 top-20 teams.) Unfortunately, the surplus of quality teams in the Hawaii regional are all stuffed into two of the subregionals.

Fascinating figures......makes it so clear who has gotten the easier ride and who got the shaft. ..........Hawaii seems to be in the latter group!!!!! Of course!

Here’s another way of looking at the seeding for the AVCA Top 10 Teams. It shows the pablo ranking of their first round match plus the highest pablo ranked team they can face in the second round and in the regionals. AVCA Rank | Team | First Round | Second Round | Regional Semi’s | Regional Finals | 1 | Nebraska | 96 | 27 | 14 | 7 | 2 | Stanford | 35 | 29 | 13 | 6 | 3 | Washington | 38 | 30 | 8 | 3 | 4 | UCLA | 94 | 20 | 11 | 9 | 5 | Penn State | 105 | 85 | 25 | 4 | 6 | USC | 50 | 39 | 15 | 5 | 7 | Florida | 111 | 28 | 7 | 1 | 8 | Texas | 273 | 59 | 6 | 2 | 9 | Minnestoa | 146 | 51 | 12 | 1 | 10 | Wisconsin | 55 | 20 | 10 | 2 |
Note: Second round Minnesota error corrected.

Gorf:
Thanks for compiling all of this information. It came in handy this morning as I was working on final changes to my revised bracket.
I did notice one possible error - you listed and used the ranking figures for New Mexico rather than New Mexico State. Since there are significant differences in the rankings of these two teams, it would potentially skew your averages for that grouping and regional quite a bit.

Gorf, for the Colorado subregional, you put down New Mexico instead of New Mexico State (NMSU).
The rankings for NMSU are: RKPI = 26 Pablo = 31 AVCA = 19 RK = 20

I'll correct that and update the chart a bit later tonight. If you (or anyone) notices other mistakes in the chart please point them out.

I prefer means to averages. I can be mean! Your mom dresses you funny! Actually, adding means to the chart makes sense - I'll try to remember to add them to the chart when I update it later tonight.

I prefer medians to means.

How about weighs to means?
Means are basically averages anyhow aren't they?
I'll do medians, though they don't make a ton of sense in the sub-regionals with only 4 values, for the full region values medians might be interesting.

Changed New Mexico to New Mexico State, added medians, and standard deviates deviations.

Comparing anything with respect to the AVCA and RK in your chart is pretty meaningless, given that about half of the teams are given a 36 or 38 (meaning that the AVCA and RK do not even rank them).
Did I miss someone pointing out that 5 of the toughest 6 subregionals are located in California? If so, apologies in advance.
