Because I don't post match recaps. You guys already know what happened, win or lose. When my players, or any Big Ten players, do something well, I feel that should be recognized. PM me with suggestions if you wish.

I guess until today I have missed it when you posted something good about any Big Ten players, other than PSU players, when they have done something good. I'll look back in your previous posts and stand corrected.

I wonder which coach(es) didn't think Peniata deserved to be all-conference. I would have thought she would have been a unanimous pick, but maybe it is due to being a libero. I am glad that Dolgner and Simpson got recognized and that Reineke showed that her omission from the preseason list was a mistake, as many people here said at the time. I think Hodge this year is one of the weaker players of the year that I can remember in the Big Ten. Her back row skills leave something to be desired at this point, and her hitting stats were good but not mind blowing. I just hope the conference can make life tough for her and prevent her from winning the award more times, because you know that she is going to get better working under that staff. I was a bit surprised with Waite as coach of the year, but good for him. I don't think many people who watched the AVCA matches the Badgers played would have expected them to be 16-4 in the Big Ten and have had some of the dominant performances that they did in conference play. They improved a lot over the course of the season, as most of his teams have.

This list looks like they got it right. Only surprise is that Merlau from Purdue is not on either list. Why? Neither her stats, nor performances in big matches would justify her selection.

I guess people are reluctant to give Russ coach of the year due to their talent. They did win the league, starting 2 freshman, 3 sophs. Evidently they are just rolling out the balls at Rec Hall and playing. I would have given it to Hebert before Waite, but Russ deserves some credit from his peers.
