Are these three going to be the most powerful and explosive outside hitters in NCAA history to be on one team.

Um...they were on the same team last year and how did that turn out? Are you serious??? Do you realize that there is a differnece between, Larson being a freshman and a junior and Pavan being a sophomore and a senior?? The only question will be if the injury will affect Houghtelling.... Im guessing no.... The Huskers will be at full power next year and i do believe that these three will be the three best Outsides in college volleyball.

Two National Players of the Year on the court will be history in itself. Add the amazing Larson to the mix and you have one of the most lethal trio's ever in college volleyball. The X factor will be chemistry. You have it or you don't.

I think the key is having those 3 players being healthy all season, especially towards the post season. With all the hitters on the team, Nebraska could indeed be a dominating team next season. And if the MB2's offensive output goes up, then the team could be a serious threat at the net.
But as stated by Starksy, the x-factor will be the team chemistry. We saw how Nebraska 2001 team was an even more lethal team than the 2000 national championship team with the return of Nancy Metcalf but that team fell short in the FF.

FOr everyones sake, I hope they can't get along...

I think they're going to do fine.....even better than this season. Just the thought of those three players together gives me the creeps or any opposing team....nightmares.

I still have trouble putting Larson up there with Pavan and Houghtelling. She played a very good match against the Cardinal but she hasn't been all that impressive in the other matches I've seen her play.

Her stats speak for themelves! Pavan & Larson have been pretty much 1-2 in kills all season in kills. Usually whoever was the kill leader for a particular match than the other one was 2nd in kills. NU never has had a 1-2 combo with 9 kills/game before until this year.

That combo though and Stalls... ouch. But I have to say there are a ton of scary teams that are going to be better next year than this year also. American... 2 6'8 twins returning, and will only be Sophmores and get better and better. Yikes! Texas. Stanford Minnesota etc etc. Looks to be an exciting time for Volleyball all around.

How did that end up?? A national championship with only 3 losses all year. Let's see if the Huskers can top that.

There will not be the chemistry issues with Houghtelling returning to the lineup as there were with Metcalf. Two completely different kids. I'm more concerned about her returning to full strength than getting along.

The offense is only half the game. Key next year will be defense and getting the hitters the ball. Will they switch back to a 6-2 again or stay in a 5-1? I don't think even that will be the deciding factor. If they are "average" in digging and passing they'll be fine in most matches, but at crunch time deep in the tournament average won't be enough. You can have 10 great attackers but if you don't get them the ball, it won't matter. Defense wins big matches and that's the key for 2007.
