There is little doubt that Nebraska will start 2007 ranked #1....followed by Stanford ranked #2, followed by PSU ranked #3 and followed by Texas ranked #4!!!!! BET ON IT! LBSU at 25+ ? No.......LBSU will be ranked next season and all year long......!!!!

Everybody's talking about our 3 Top Guns, but I guarantee you the glue that holds this all together is Tracy Stalls. She gets along very well with Pavan, is almost motherly to Larson, and totally respects Houghteling. Stalls really impressed me this year. I was beginning to think she would just be a decent middle for Nebraska. She turned herself into an offensive force. How much does Holloway have to do with this? And how's her blocking?

That's really good that Nebraska finally lived up to their ranking this season but still that embarrasing lose last year in the finals to Washington really still tops the chart to me..............

I was beginning to think she would just be a decent middle for Nebraska. She turned herself into an offensive force. How much does Holloway have to do with this? And how's her blocking? Her blocking numbers I would say are fairly average for an NU MB. Her attack numbers, I personally feel have a lot to do with Holloway. The reason I say this, is because last year you knew exactly when the middle was going to be set....only on a perfect pass. However, credit Stalls in that she knows exactly where to hit the ball, like O/U said during the Texas game it almost appears that she surveys the court as she is going up and makes the right choice. And when she puts it down, she puts it down! Very few got dug up. What I was referring to though in this particular thread wasn't her playing ability, but her leadership skills. If you ever watch the bench she is the biggest cheerleader on the bench. Even last year where she sat out the first part of it. You can also tell she respects everybody and looks for the positive in everyone and reinforces that. Obviously her teammates saw something to, when they elected her as one of the captains. So when I said the "she's the glue" I was reffering to the chemistry situation. I think she can be the mediator or the voice of reason should little egos rear their ugly head.

The '96 vicious spanking of Hawaii by Stanford in the championship final has to be the tops. Now that was pretty embarrassing. But then again there was also the stunning come back from behind victory by Michigan St. in the islands in the regional final dashing Hawaii's undefeated season in '95. I can't believe I'm saying this but at least Nebraska pulled out with a title this time around.

I kinda miss April Ross, Keao Burdine, Bibi Candelas, and Emily Adams. Two-time champs. Undefeated. Of course, they were all ringers.

Okay, you can come back with Stanford / Minnesota in the 2004 championship now.

I'm not sure what was embarrasing about it. Nebraska simply got beat by a better team. NU got to the Finals when 300+ other teams didn't. They didn't reach their goal but when your goal is the National Championship nearly every year, you are bound to be disappointed on many of those years. If you stress the journey and not the final result, and then lay it all out, how can you be embarrased? I'm very sorry but I forgot, how was the journey for your teams?

That Penn/Stan game was fun to watch though. 40 hitting errors by the Stanford with Logan and Kerri in the lineup. They got a taste of their own medicine. And also, Cochran getting her tooth knocked out? Tough cookie. ;D

I thought Cochran lost her tooth in the 97 championship match against Stanford?

I thought Cochran lost her tooth in the 97 championship match against Stanford? I thought it was '99...? I have no clue then.

i just remember seeing it on TV and I was at the 1999 Final Four.
It's possible I saw it on a replay after I flew to Maui to continue my vacation.

A bit of googling says she was a senior in 1998.

Or how about misspelling the word "loss". That's kind of embarrassing right? I suppose it's not a chart topper though.
