If Christensen plays like she played against Stanford this is also a scary bunch. Throw in AA Macgee and an experienced setter 4th year?.....don't know much about the recruits coming in, but even without them this is also a scary trio.
My point is these last two posts is that Nebraska is going to have their hands full in just their own conference much less thinking about the likes of Penn St. and Stanford.

The talent that Texas has been bringing in (and will bring in for next year) is just flat out scary. When they played in the AVCA Showcase, I really thought I was watching 2006's Big 12 champs. They just fired on all cylinders.
I just can't understand why they seem to underperform when it matters most. They had Stanford on the ropes in all three of the games they lost. (Of course, so did NU in 2001, so I can't be too hard on UT.) Is it inexperience in finishing off a tough opponent? Is it focus? Is it Elliott?
Regardless, Texas is going to be incredibly fun to watch next year, and I'll be rooting for them. Anything that makes the Big 12 more competitive is GREAT.

Chance is right, along with Nebraska, we followed Texas alot, and it is pretty clear that Engle and Hooker are going to be amazing, plus they have two top notch recruits coming in and they have an experienced player coming back. I like Texas to defintely make it to the final four.

Texas will be monsters next season. Both reruits were not only with the jr national team but starting on the u.s. national team as well. Juliann Faucette reminds me of Logan Tom but much more behind then the great Tom was coming in as a freshmen. Juliann is the complete player that Texas needs to really contend for a national title next season and for years to come. Doris is a 6'5 MB with both jr and us national team experience also international as well same goes with Faucette. Doris will be one of the top MB's America will see in awhile besides the great Foluke Akinradewo. Oh I'm just excited. Hooker will be even more polished and complete as an attacker for next season and 2 season's after that. Engle will only get even better. Magee will return and that will lock up the middle position. Gosh I'm excited even talking about it................................LONGHORNS............................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While Hooker's ability to do well in several sports speaks to her admirable athleticism, it's sad from our vantage point as volleyball fans that she's unlikely to realize her potential to be the most dominant college attacker of her day because she will not be getting the same number of practice reps in volleyball as other players during January-June. However, when I look into my crystal ball I do see her and Klineman exchanging kills in one brutal Final Four match during the next three years.

Hooker's match vs. Nebraska in Austin was just plain ridiculous. It's up to Elliott to get them to perform at a high level in big matches. If he can do that, they could very well be in Sacramento. The raw talent certainly is there.

Texas clearly has the talent to contend for and even win a Final Four. Presumably they will have to travel to a regional, since they hosted last year, and may get the Penn State treatment (playing an underseeded team with a great home court record). That's all 11 months away, but that's the main impediment I see to Texas going to the Final Four. Otherwise, they have talent, experience in a big match they almost won, and motivation. And if they beat Nebraska next year in Austin, confidence.

Sorry, not impressed with his coaching and his ability to take a team he created to the final four. And he won't get to have a regional at home next year either. He had a decent chance this year, but too much inexperience and getting stuck with Stanford denied them, oh, and Elliott.

Actually, I don't think home court is a big deal for Texas. In the past they have struggled with inconsistency no matter the venue. 2007 will be either Waterloo or Rubicon for Jerritt Elliott. Personally I think they have improved every year since he arrived, and they only missed out this year because of injuries. In 2007 I think they cross the Rubicon into Sacramento.
