since almost every1 gives awards based on stats (eventho it's deceptively inaccurate due to the nonexistent competition from the nonwestern leagues) nana should be poy instead of pavan based on stats alone nana lead the country in kill percentage and blocks she also achieved this against the best legit competition in the country
in addition the 1st team all americans should be the following nana(ucla) barboza(stanford) morisson(uw) spicer(ucla) kehoe(stanford) pavan(nub)
yes pavan makes it coz she is the only good legit player in that team and she was consistent thru the season i forgot how many players they select for 1st team and so on so i'm just listing 6 for now and mite add later add yer list coz it's risible to see every1's picks when they add the wannabe players instead of the legit winners hahaha i love ye all

I still find it odd that someone claims to be an expert on anything when even basic mastery of the english language is well........

Pavan should be disqualified from all american contention since she is, in fact, canadian. She's Canadian? How come no one told us before now? We never knew!! What other insights can you pass on to us all? The Beatles broke up, the London Bridge isn't in London, there are Viet Nam War draft dodgers still living in Canada? You are absolutely right. No Canadians should be All Americans, or POY's or Players of the Week in their conferences--nor should they attract so much attention on and off the floor or on Volleytalk. Give your head a shake.

I mean, why would they WANT to be one in the first place? They are now living in American cities, going to American schools, playing with American girls and spending American dollars which cost them more than Canadian dollars to buy. It's a simple case of being honoured among their present peers. Is there something wrong with being noticed and awarded/rewarded for being the best among those they are playing with right now? Would you rather have them called All Canadians playing in an American school?

"All American" is an anachronistic term whose genesis is from a bye-gone era where all male football and basketball collegians were U.S. born. I'm surprised the PC police haven't complained that this term disrespects the nationality of non American players, although in Pavan's case she, at least, is a "North American." Perhaps the call to arms has not been joined yet, or maybe it is simply that the self-appointed purveyors of political correctness have bigger fish to fry.
