I don't understand why the men train in Anaheim now while the women remain in Colorado Springs. Isn't it in our interest to make sure they are in the same location so they can breed and create a new generation of amazons?

Well, we need a change on some sort. Maybe a move will draw more players like Logan says, but I'm not sure what the answer is.

What benefits will the team have if they stay at Colorado Springs? What other places can they go to?

Anaheim, Home Depot Center in Carson, ARCO Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista.

I didn't realize the men's program was sooooooo much better than the women's because of it's training location! :-)

The problem isn't location isn't money. Until USA vb steps up to the plate, gets serious financial backing and stops allowing the revolving door of players coming and going prior to the Olympics, the medals aren't going to happen. It's not the athletes fault, you can't blame them for wanting to make money but the women and men who stick with the program deserve to be rewarded!

Bingo....bingo...we have a winner. I do not agree with one point however. The responsibilty does lie mainly with the athletes. They want it all and that is just not possible. Commit and stick with it or forget it. Moving the training facility to Nebraska or southern cal is not going to change the fact that many of these athletes are pampered and spoiled.

I understand where Logan is coming from. Logan Tom has done a whole lot, sacrificed a whole lot for USAVolleyball. Whether or not she is a "priss" is up for debate. The accomplishments and work she has put in to our NT is not. She has represented and continues to represent our country well by how sucessful she is internationally. Does this mean USAVolleyball should grovel at her feet? No. Does it mean they should listen to her? Yes. LT is a veteran and she makes a point about the training center being in socal. Notice in the article her not mentioning anything about salary. Obviously LT doesn't need that. The way I see it is like this - if you can't provide a decent compensation, at least put the training center in an area where the volleyball community exists.

You cannot compare players recently out of college to players like LT, Sykora, Bown, etc. Of course players out of college are going to love the experience of playing on the NT and training "for your country" in the Springs. But to veterans, who have sacrificed and put in the sweat and time and paid their dues, they don't need to prove anything anymore. The thing is we need them which means we should be listening to them. Do we do everything they say, no, but we listen to the players.

And Colorado Springs is not all that tempting when you have already represented your country in every major international tournament, you have no friends there, you are used to a certain standard of living and then you are asked to live in a dorm room. Not many people out there who would continue to do that, not after you've done it the past 8 years. Thats my take on it.

I say a lotta love is in order for AHMOW.

She is one of those veterans that has been there through it all ~ even coming back from a pregnancy.

The US is lucky that she has been a staple with the program. So many highly touted setters have come and gone for various reasons. Yet, AhMow has weathered all of the storms to provide a constant on the team when the revolving door at other positions have continued.

Danielle Scott has been tremendous for the US team as well. I wonder how she feels about the current rumour mill.

Robyn AhMow and Danielle Scott truly are class acts.

I agree. The idea of moving the center is to "pamper" the players, but to help the damn program. It might be good, it might be bad, but its better than letting it sit and wait for a great player to show up out of nowhere

Spoken like a true Cardinal fan. Logan has sacrificed and given alot to the national team? To put her in the same category as Scott, Sykora, and Mow is just ridiculous. She has expected the team to revolve around her. And they don't have any friends in Colorado Springs? What about the players that are from all over the rest of the country. Typical selfishness on the part of California players and their fans. You are not the only players and fans in the universe.
