I don't think anyone can take on Nebraska at this point, but then it's just a spring match and it will be good for players like Mafua or Brandt. I think once they are healthy, Hawaii will be a really good team.

Perhaps they've been watching too many BG training videos?

I vote the Wahine going at least the semi-final match. Its just time. Imagine if Keefe, thomas and hittle didn't go out over the re-injuries. They would have beat New Mexico State the first time, made the WAC tourney, Got past 1st, 2nd round, got past USC, played UCLA and barely won....game went to 5th, Lost to Stanford....nerves or you know what....I just know they can do it is all. Its time already. I can't wait for the season to come around.

Will Kamana'o start? I thought this would be a chance for Mafua to play her first match at the collegiate level before the fall season begins.

Is Brandt already in Hawaii? If so, were does she live? Is she taking classes? If so, which ones?
Thanks, in advance.
p.s. just answer two of the above four questions. (the ones that require the "yes" or "no" responses)

Not sure if it was mentioned yet, but I heard Hawaii will be without the playing services of Hittle, Thomas, Keefe, and Sanders this Spring. Too bad... I guess that means it'll be Gregory and Blood playing middle; Houston, Arnott on the Left; Setter: Mafua(and Brandt???); Libero: Lee; and Kaufman on the RS.

I don't believe she's joining the team until after this semester. At least we may get some idea of Arnott's status for next year. I guess that's why Kanoe and Sarah will be helping to fill out the roster for the match.

I think it's just silly and stupid to have Kanoe set when Mafua should be getting some game experience.

I think it's just silly and stupid to have Kanoe set when Mafua should be getting some game experience. I agree, Kanoe should be supporting her and kinda coaching her from the sidelines. Does anybody happen to know why Kanoe wasn't invited to Colorado Springs?....anyone knows....? or even the National Team?

I don't know whether she was invited or not, but I thought I read a post by someone who said she was healing/recuperating from all her injuries. Which begs the question: why is she playing in the Spring scrimmage?

Dear it'sy b itsy grammar nazi: As you know, being a high-powered lawyer of immeasurable education and intelligence, "begging the question" is a logical fallacy with a specific meaning not intended in your paragraph above. What you mean to say is "Which raises the question". Please fix. Thanks, Enid Vance

Does anybody happen to know why Kanoe wasn't invited to Colorado Springs?....anyone knows....? or even the National Team? I don't know whether she was invited or not, but on the radio yesterday, Dave mentioned that she wanted to finish up her degree in four years (she's set to graduate this spring) and has a heavy class load this semester. Given that desire, along with her injuries from this past season, she may have just decided to postpone further playing opportunities until after graduation. Dave did also mention that she has numerous options for continuing her playing career and specifically mentioned the national team and professional leagues in Europe and Japan.
