I sure hope that all the people who are ripping the girls for transferring have never switched jobs because they sought a better opportunity. Doofs. College sports are not the same as the business world. There's a fan base that would like to be able to count on their favorite players throughout their careers. Fans like loyalty. So it's natual that they would be upset when those players leave. In business, there's no true sense of loyalty. You're in it for yourself. It's like Dwight says on The Office: "Would I ever leave this company? Look, I'm all about loyalty. In fact, I feel like part of what I'm being paid for here is my loyalty. But if there were somewhere else that valued loyalty more highly, I'm going wherever they value loyalty the most." ;D ;D

Suggestion, why not just give athletes a four year contract. If they want a release prior to the end of the contract, they have to sit for one year with which ever school they choose, or have been chosen by. NO EXCEPTIONS, this would bring into play who the great coaches are in development, and whose not, and give the girls more motivation to work harder than ever, because the coach who once held you at the top of a pedestal, will not be immediate replacing you with the next best version of you. It might also slow down over-recruiting as there would not be so many available scholarships to give from girls leaving early. Limit the walk-ons. So every team has the same amount of players. In turn this should make the girls who want to play work harder and make the coaches hopefully get a lot more insight on how to keep players healthier. Maybe less overuse, and abuse. Last, but not least, no recruiting until after there junior year is over. Not from either side. No E-Mails, No phone calls, no talking through club coaches, until that . Junior Year is over... Coaches can scout all they want, but zero communication until that Jr. Year is over. Which by the way would be the hardest to implement, as both sides bend that rule to the max starting with parents, club coaches, and many college coaches.

Volleyball talkers, disregarding what you and I think the bottom line the kids are gone looking for greener pastures from thier point of view. Will it be greener? Time will tell, but one thing is for sure.......in todays world we are always looking for something better despite the impacts that it creats to others. My book is closed on this one! ESTRELLA

5 years from now they'll all look back and ask, "What was that all about ?" And who really cares. It is just a sport.

From what I have seen of other sports, transfers in volleyball are much less of an issue. there are many D2 basketball programs out there (male and female) with many transfers from DI programs.

As an observer...I think people are worked up because these "kids" decision and more importantly the timing of their decision greatly affects a number of other people including but not limited to their teammates and coaches.
