The other team cannot score effectively if PSU sides out like they can.
I don't even buy that they don't pass or defend that well. As well as past teams? Maybe not. But they're still OK and stand to be better this year.

Nebraska could very well be the best along with the USC teams a few years back. but so many things have to go right in order to win. Health, chemistry, drive, etc...... I wouldn't go engraving any plaques yet, but they are in a great position.

No room. I'd have to move the stick.

D'Errico should take care of a lot of passing and defensive problems (if you haven't seen her play...you should).
Now, with Fawcett a junior, Hodge older, Price still around, Holehouse available, they should be solid.
When has Penn State ever been a great passing team, anyway? That's not what they do.

Surfer, have seen D'Errico and she should develope into a great Libero if she stays disciplined. Great athlete, moves well, aggressive and can play ball. It is all about what PSU will do with the area of weakness they have. They can choose to try to exploit what they are strong at like 100 swings per macth from the LS or bring that number down with better ball control so the MH and RS can share a better load on the offense. One year older just brings expereince of play. It does not eqaute automatically to improvement in play. And you said it "When has Penn State ever been a great passing team, anyway? That's not what they do!" That is the reason they will not win it all. ESTRELLA

If Penn State survives their killer schedule and finishes 2 or 3 I bet they get Washington in their regional. A win over the Huskies would send them on a high to the tournament and a potential rematch with Nebraska.

Silver Surfer, Kim Kumfer, Heidi Rottinghaus, Angie Kammer........ is when they were a great passing team. It most certainly was what they did. For someone who fancies themselves a historian, let alone from that part of the country, you're better than that kid.

With two returning National POY's, and 5 AA's on the roster, will Nebraska be the best College Volleyball team in history? Will Jordan Larson prove to be more deadly than Houghtelling or Pavan? well, here we go with the Jordon Promotional again... why do you want to create the stink for Nebraska? here is an answer to part of the pot stiring question. Larson would never be better than Houghtelling, if Houghtelling returns to her 2005 MVP form, and she will never be taller than Pavin, can you at least understand that much?

Surprised to see this. Houghtelling at her best is an excellent hitter and blocker. She has always been a mediocre passer, defender and server.
Larson does EVERYTHING well or exceptional. Although her hitting may not be as spectacular as Houghtellings, I would take Larson over Houghtelling anyday. Experience is the only thing keeping Larson from being an international star. I just don't see the same potential with Houghtelling.

Larson and Houghtelling are totally opposite players. Houghtelling is a much stronger net player than Larson, and anyone who has seen the two extensively would acknowledge that. As far as international potential, I don't agree with Volleytx, Houghtelling is a much better point scorer (hit/block) than Larson. Both can be international players but for different reasons.

I agree, I like this Larson girl......She has all the tools needed to become a complete player. Very consistent and calm. That's the type of player I like, HUMBLE..........Jordan Larson is a stub no doubt.

Everyone talks about Stanford being a serious threat to Nebraska next year, but if Stanford with Richards couldn't beat Nebraska with Mancuso...Nebraska with Houghtelling beats Nebraska beats Stanford. Klineman is good but she will not be as good as Richards in her 1st year. Penn State is the biggest threat to Nebraska but actually I don't see Nebraska losing a match in the Big 12 next year and winning the title.
