If Duke is at 18, than GT should certainly be getting votes, they are going to be right there with Duke in the ACC.

I'm not really surprised by the split on the first place votes. I am surprised that there were voters that didn't have Nebraska and Stanford as the top 2.

So, Big 12 gets four teams in the top 25: Nebraska, Texas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. Um, Oklahoma is picked 9th in the Big 12 by the freakin' coaches of the conference AND loses 5 out of 7 starter!!!! What is up with that?

Well I remember Louisville got a #12 ranking last year and they just bombed out of the top 25. I was surprised considering they lost Hoffman, Ustymenko and their libero. So Oklahoma and Utah's votes I think are just out of respect to their performance last year.

There is typically as much correlation between last year's end of the season poll and this year's preseason poll and weeks 3 and 4.
Don't read anything into it. Voters start with last year's end of the season result and then tweak a little up and down.

I have two questions: 1) Why is Arizona so high and 2) (sorry J.C.), but what on earth has convinced someone to vote for G-Tech in the preseason poll?
I think Arizona is about where they should be. They'd be higher if Kristina Baum had stayed and played as she wanted, except I heard Dave blew that chance big time.

I thought Baum didn't play because she tore ACL. I have two questions: 1) Why is Arizona so high and 2) (sorry J.C.), but what on earth has convinced someone to vote for G-Tech in the preseason poll? I thought Baum didn't play because she tore ACL. Last year in pre-season she tore her ACL and got red shirted. However, (from a very reliable source),apparently Rubio had promised her a scholie for '07 and then changed his mind and gave it to someone else (a new "project"). After she had worked out to get back into great competitive shape Dave wanted his team captain to walk on. She decided that was not for her and moved on.

Hmmm, this is the first I've heard of this. So where is she now? Is she playing elsewhere? I thought Baum didn't play because she tore ACL. I'm surprised Santa Clara is ranked ahead of Pepperdine. And Florida should be way up there in the top 5. Well, it's just the preseason poll....and it's too early to tell.

Mango a very solid freshman libero will be taking the reigns and I noticed a 6'8 MB from Germany coming in.
