Where was Bryte? Is she still on the team?

Where was Bryte? Is she still on the team? I heard she quit the team. Don't know the details, but I suspect she realized that she wasn't going to displace Lloyd as starting setter. I was surprised. Certainly hope she lands on her feet regardless of what she decides to do. I also heard rumors about who's the backup setter.

Back row defense has been terrible so far. Even routine passes have not been on the money. As good as Roysland looked earlier she seems to be overmatched at times.
The block tonight also looked bad with many shots going thru the block. There were also times when Cal hitters had open shots.
As (R)uffda, I think, said earlier, I didn't see this coming after last weekend. We knew the team would take some time to gel but I hope they come together soon. I have confidence in Hebert that he will be able to push the right buttons and right the ship.

Has his condition (Parkinson's?) gotten better or worse during the season?

The Gophers were basically served off the court. Very disappointing after playing so well in the last two matches last weekend. The overpasses on free balls (think Roysland) are maddening to watch. I think Fallon needs to see some more playing time in the back row. She has a great serve and should be able to do a good job.
Hopefully it's a good lesson for them.

Who she? What about the freshman Zizka? I didn't get that. What I heard would be that one of the current starting players might set if called upon to do so. I hope that doesn't become necessary.

I agree (R)uffda with the troll comment. It just looks like MN didn't come to play and Cal was firing on all cylinders. Hey, it's Bezerkley, what did you expect. It is just plain hard to play in that crazy town.

I was pretty shocked by not so much the result (though I thought UM would win) but the scores. Wisconsin barely beating LMU at home? There may be an enormous log jam in the BTen this year. Minnesota should not lose like that to any team, anywhere, anytime. I agree with Ruffda, if you get pounded for a couple games, your pride and determination should kick in. It appears they waved the white flag. I bet you will see a few tough practices in Minneapolis this week.

Surprised Bryte has left the team, if that's true. I figured she would always be part of the team, even if not playing.

Who she? What about the freshman Zizka? Zizka's a great kid, but I didn't know she was a setter. I've only ever seen her play outside and backrow.

FYI the match is on DISH channel 409 right now. Empty gym. Sounds like an echo chamber. Minnesota is sleepwalking.

A current starter as back up setter? Hmm, interesting puzzle. Hana would go pummel a hitter if they missed a good set, the idea of Angie setting is varrrrrree interrestink, don't think it would be Kat or Ellen Orchard, Morgan Beck has played all along the front line, but not at setter, leaving Kathen and/or Murphy? My guess would be Kathen, who would certanly approach the task with enthusiasm. Zizka played hard at the scrimmage, with results close to even, although she did miss a few sets completely.
