Its exactly what I said. Compared to the matches played so far I think it was Jordans worst performance. Its still an good performance compared to most of the competition but for Jordan it was not her usual.

Holy cow, just watched the match and...Kiley Hall was hitting outside? Wow. Is the big tall blonde still on the team? The one who is 6'5" and plays middle? I forget here name.
Faucette may be freshman of the year candidate for sure.

And yes, Juliann Faucette is the front running Freshman of the Year in my book too. I hope you folks are talking about conference FOY. At this point I think Faucette is a better front row attacker than Klineman, but Faucette is behind Klineman in back row attacking and defense. Faucette may be a slightly better blocker, and Klineman may be a slightly better passer at this point, but neither of them is very good at those skills yet so I'll call that a draw. But yes, she is clearly the Big 12 FOY. No one else is even close.

I haven't yet had the priviledge of seeing (TV or live) Alix Kleineman play for Stanford. And it's doubtful that anyone will see her this year in a situation similar to what Juliann Faucette found herself against NU. Her performance was a strong, elite-level performance, clearly superior to anyone else playing in that game on the TX side. The few times that Cook pulled the 6-2 and brought in Licht for blocking against her, Faucette essentially ignored the down-the-line that had been available and went to the hard cross. NU couldn't stop that either. If Klineman and Faucette are more-or-less even in whatever stats are important at the end of the year, then NU-TX#1 is the differentiator. Faucette is national FOY. She should be national POW this week.

I've seen Klineman and Faucette play this year and there's no way to tell which deserves FOY at this point in the season. It's by far too early. I'm looking forward to the Stanford/PSU match up tonight. Stanford really hasn't been tested so far and it'll be interesting to see Klineman in this situation.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens when Stanford and Texas meet in Sacramento....

And by the way, last year I went on record saying that I was done waiting for PSU to put up a recent postseason performance that matches their recruits, coaching, and program history. If Texas doesn't easily make a regional final this year they will join PSU's status unless there is some specific and unavoidable reason, i.e. catastrophic injury. If Texas doesn't make the FF this year I will consider their status Probationary. In 2008 with an experienced Hooker, Engle, Faucette, Paolini and adding Yogi on defense, failure to make the FF would make it impossible to take them seriously ever again.
