The 3rd Annual Sports Imports Classic, otherwise known as the "Big Ten/Pac 10 Challenge" sparks up again on Friday. On Friday, it pits the host, Ohio State, against USC, as well as Purdue and Oregon. On Saturday, the matchups are flip-flopped, OSU-Oregon, USC-Purdue. My question through all of this, will anybody challenge USC in this?

So, if Pac-10 sweeps, does this change anybody's opinion? Not hardly.
If Big-10 sweeps (highly unlikely), will this change anybody's opinion? Not hardly. But it will give Big-10 fans some ammo.

By the end of the season I think Ohio State might be competitive with USC, but OSU has too many freshman and it is too early in the season and I doubt it will be close (I hope they prove me wrong).

College Boy - you like to stir up trouble, don't you?
I think both OSU and Purdue need to beat Oregon, and playing against USC is going to be a taste of what it will be like playing Penn State. Again. I don't think Purdue is as good as it will be by the end of the season. But, since they keep improving every weekend, I'm glad to see tough competition scheduled.
So - do you play your best players the first game, or do you try to "save" someone for the 2nd game? That is what I am curious to see.

I'm just looking forward to some good ball this weekend. It will be interesting to see how good Purdue is. I hope the Buckeyes play well.

I won't be convinced of anything unless everybody in the Pac-10 plays everybody in the Big Ten, at least twice. The more the better. Otherwise, it's just:
OSU vs. USC Purdue vs. Oregon. OSU vs. Oregon USC vs. Purdue

I really like the Pac 10 / Big 10 match ups....what would happen if the bottom dwellers from each league played each other ?

I wouldn't say I like to stir up trouble, I just enjoy heated debates and I truly was curious if anybody had hope in OSU or Purdue to knock USC off.
I personally see USC 2-0, OSU and Purdue 1-1, and Oregon an unfortunate 0-2.

OK...Looking at the Purdue team this year is like waiting for spring flowers to bloom. A freshman setter that was not to be put in this position this early and she is getting better every week. Two or three ke players either not playing at all or getting limited play due to injuries and still the team has been competitive every week. Will they again be tested this weekend by the two Pac 10 teams, yup, but don't expect USC to roll over either Big Ten team. I agree with Boiler, the best of both Purdue and OSU will come later in the year but both have the weapons to make this weekend very interesting. It will be two great nights of VB in Columbus this weekend!

You'd see conversely similar results if Minnesota and Michigan played Oregon and Arizona.

I see further embarrassment headed our way. That's what I see.

Like I said, I'm just hoping for some good volleyball. Dang it, I wish the students were back. Maybe they can borrow the marching band, as the FB team will be in Seattle. Shoot... we'll get the second-string cheerleaders.

I dont like everybody trying to rip off the challenge gimmick without properly recreating it...
The worst was that lame ACC SEC challenge that was IN THE SPRING...

I remember a few years ago #1USC came into Huff with a 56 match winning streak. It was supposed to be 3-0 USC. Needless to say it didn't turn out that way. That's why you play the games.
