And they beat San Diego, who was close and would be closer if not for the loss.
And they beat Ohio. Except for that score thing.

I just wasted a half hour reading this whole thread. You make ma laugh. When I send in my AVCA votes, I switch it around just to make you guys argue over the gain/loss in points Isn't it also true it's not even the same voters every week? I wonder how often alternates are called upon.

Most of the coaches on the list don't waste their time with this crap, they're too busy coming up with a new angle for each day's letter, email, and text messages to Colleen Ward. The actual voting is delegated to their intern AKA "Director of Volleyball Operations" who sits on VolleyTalk all day and votes based on bitter grudges and vicious biases developed when she was a player 6-10 years ago.

And for the record, since I often bring up Nebraska as an example of scheduling tough opponents, I do think it's squirrely when some of their backers (and some of their official press releases) try to count the Qwest center as an "away" or "neutral" site. Reminds me of Clem Haskins a few years ago when he tried to tell us that playing at the old Met Center was an away match.

I'm not worried, Washington will finish in the top 5 in attendance again. Like we do every year. This is kind of the sad reality of women's volleyball support in this country, isn't it? When a team that isn't even drawing 1000 fans to its home matches early in the season can still end up in the top 5 for the sport for the year. And I'm not saying this to pick on Washington. Same thing goes for Nebraska. We have the AVCA event in Omaha in late August and they played before over 6000 empty seats. With all the "bragging" us Husker fans have been doing of late, you would have expected that the Qwest would have been sold out (or nearly sold out) and it wasn't. Not sure what the answer is. As the season progresses, fan interest improves across the country, but it sure isn't there all season long like say football. And it I'm not sure fan interest/attendance it is getting much better annually.

Out here in the Volleyball Nation, sometimes even UH alumni skimishes will draw over 1,000 to watch.
