Its about time, hopefully callahan will be soon to follow, and he can take Cosgrove with him, they are all bums, most of the players too, they aren't D-1 national title caliber players like NU needs to compete and reach their goals!!!!

"I refuse to let the program gravitate into mediocrity," Pederson said the day he announced Solich's firing. "We won't surrender the Big 12 to Oklahoma and Texas." That didn't work out too well, did it.

I guess suffering your worst home loss in 40 years to Oklahoma State of all teams, with Tom Osborne in attendance no less was the last straw.
In recent years you have to wonder if teams have been trying to run up the score when they had the chance, after years of being pummeled by the Huskers they finally get to see what it's like with the shoe on the other foot.

Pederson got fired for hiring Callahan and recently extending his contract. Perlman hired Pederson and just recently extended his contract with a handsome raise. Shouldn't Perlman be fired?

I will admit that when I saw the headline I thought Niles Pedersen had gotten fired from some job I didn't know he had.

Now what did Terry Pettit ever do to you for you to wish that hornet's nest on him? He's happy fishing and having fun.

It is good to see him go. I don't give a rat's a$$ about football except they help support the VB team (at least for now) but it used to be a source of pride for the state. It has become an embarrassment. I'm just glad John Cook was able to keep the VB program going in spite of the "help" Pederson has provided to the program.
If Tom Osborne is selected as the interim AD, I hope he doesn't totally neglect the one sport Nebraska has going for it right now.

NEWS FLASH: Football still supports the entire athletic program, as great as vball is they don't turn a profit...........however, football is slowly but surely giving the state a bad name, they are the jokes of college football, i would love to use the comeback, "we still got vball", but unfortunatly in most circles no body cares. Its sad the one team that we can have pride in and nobody outside our state borders cares or knows the much about them (other then the VBall community), but the one team we would love to hide, is plastered all over the national media

Omaha, NE (AP) -A seven-year old boy was at the center of a Douglas County courtroom drama today when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible. The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her.
When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him. After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him. After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Nebraska Cornhuskers, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.

I visit with a great cross-section of people across the state and volleyball is huge. I don't know what kind of circles you run in but perhaps you should hang out with a little more well rounded crowd.
