Sorry, I should have said "Achilles tendon." If you still don't know, look it up in the Internet. I understood your first post, however, if you want to get technical, you should have said Achilles Heel (not heal), which is the mythological weakness you were alluding to. Achilles tendon is an anatomical reference. I didn't think you people there bothered with Greek tragedy, or human anatomy.

Mecca Schmecca. Argueing over which program is the mecca of college volleyball makes as much sense as f***ing for chastity. If you want to judge it by attendence, then it hat's off to Hawaii w/an addendum that the only reason Hawaii continues to lead in attentence is simply because Nebraska hasn't yet moved to a larger arena. Once that happens, Hawaii can kiss their nation leading attendence figures aloha. If you want to judge it by National championships, it's Stanford in a slam dunk. If you want to go by # of weeks ranked #1 then Nebraska gets the nod. Interesting article about the NCAA history of the top 25 by the way: www.cstv.com/sports/m-volley/stories/101707aab.htmlClearly some parameters need to be defined before annointing anyone the "mecca" of college volleyball. As for the upcoming match-----I suspect this is going to go the way of Nebraska past three matches. Hawaii will blow their load in came one and keep it very competetive w/Nebraska weathering the storm and winning the game. Games two and three I suspect Hawaii will be dispatched fairly routinely. Doesn't mean it's going to play out this way, just the way I think this is going to go.

Time for a detour from the defensiveness and name calling that seems to have taken over this thread- summary of the two teams:
Nebraska- having a great undefeated season, lost only one game all season, absolutely playing like a #1 team.
Hawaii- playing very well, especially considering they are a young team (starting 3 sophomores and a freshman), quick and athletic.
Any truth to the rumor that the Hawaii team will perform a Hula demonstration at halftime of the Nebraska vs. Texas A&M football game on Saturday?

"Time for a detour from the defensiveness and name calling that seems to have taken over this thread"
Then you add this ?
Any truth to the rumor that the Hawaii team will perform a Hula demonstration at halftime of the Nebraska vs. Texas A&M football game on Saturday?

Sarcasm: jesting, or mocking of a person, situation or thing. It is strongly associated with irony, with some definitions classifying it as a type of verbal irony. absurd: ridiculously unreasonable, unsound, or incongruous Stupid: the inability to discern between Sarcasm and absurdity Keystroke, your posts surely define the latter two. You've posted some incredibly stupid comments on this board, included citing the passing of a Florida football player as an "Excuse" in relation to a Florida fan mentioning it as a reason why Florida didn't play well in their loss to Arkansas. You are definitely one of the more clueless members of VT so save your definitions for someone who cares because I don't. And Penn State still has done NOTHING with all of its supposed talent.

OK, switching back to the original point of this thread before thing got blown out of control with name calling and talking about the past..............NU will win in 3, and i don't think the struggle to do it......Fact of the matter is NU won't lose to another team this year, they can only beat themselves, they are more talented then anyone even when they are messing up...Im not a husker fan by any means, in fact i don't even have a fav team, but i am a realist, no one can match up with this team....no one...Get ready for 08, because 07 has already been decided.........game, match, season, title NU!!!

Its called 'humor'- but that certainly made my point about defensive posts.
ie. Any truth to the rumor that the Nebraska team will give a corn husking demonstration at halftime of the football game?
Everyone respects the Hawaii program-the negative comments by a few 'fans' do not reflect the majority of knowledgeable fans who support the Wahine.

Hawaii will also be much more rested. I'm sure that's been mentioned, but I wanted to contribute to this thread without pointing out what a doofus BinK is. How'd I do? Oh please. Hawaii's travels have been brutal. The Wahine just got back to Hawai'i after a 3 game road trip and now they have to fly back to the ContUS to play Nebraska at Nebraska. All of which seems lost on you, not suprising actually.

Please post any comment I have made that I have not produced accurate information, statistics or results, that I based it on. My issue is and has been people making wild statements that are not grounded in fact, or reason. Someone posts that Nebraska is not a championship program, and lists those that are, who have the same or lesser resumes. If I say something I will give a basis for saying it, and back it up with data, results, that are accurate. Throwing the PSU comment in there is ridiculous. First of all because it's childish. Why didn't you follow it up with, Nah Nah na Nah Nah! Secondly, it isn't accurate....again. "PSU has accomplished nothing with their talent" They advanced to the NCAA regional final where they lost on the home floor of the defending national champion. Ascended to #2 in the ranks, with two wins over the #6 ranked team, and 3-0 wins vs #12 and #15 (who I believe beat UH on their home floor) If your definition is haven't won the national title, your accurate. Having said that, there are approximately 300 teams who fit that bill, including Hawaii.

Ruffy, I have to agree with Bik on this one. Which I hope shows if you make a thought out point, I will agree, regardless of who you are, or who you support. Hawaii will have flown to Utah and back than turn around and fly to Lincoln. Rested isn't the term I would use.

Ruffy, I wouldn't have agreed with Bik had I seen that photo first. It's hilarious and would have swayed my vote.

Doesn't mean it's going to play out this way, just the way I think this is going to go. There are are several statistical peaks in nebraska attendance, 13,000+. Remove these and the average of 4,000+ would sink to about 2000. Also, the 100 consecutive sellouts are may pale against hawaii, because, as was pointed out, at the Sheriff the average is over 6,000 without peaks and each attendance is in excess of 4,000. another factor to consider: Nebraska is a large state landwise, but not that much larger than Hawaii population wise. If Hawaii got into a bigger venue in a more centralized area, such as the downtown area, there would easily be another 2 to 3 thousand fans or more attending the matches, far outnumbering nebraska in its new venue. There's around 1,000,000 people in Honolulu. Stan Sheriff arena is located in the lower campus of UH, no easy excess to it. I am a long-time fan of the Wahine but am greatly discouraged from attending the matches because of this. The traffic is horrendous in and out of that area because of the population density.
